something different

Created by: Nightowl26
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 25, 2023
Published: Jan. 25, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is just the start to the retooling. Obviously much more work needed, but it's a start.
Scratch Bailey for the rest of the year. Buy him out next year. Clutter out the rest of the year, he retires come offseason (too many injuries). Management ask Martin to retire at end of year and give him a front office position.
Trades
1.
VAN
  1. Holmström, Simon
  2. Koivula, Otto
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
Give Van 2 young players and a pick. We take Pearson's 3.25M for the next 2 years off their hands to free up cap room.
2.
NYI
  1. Blackwood, Mackenzie
  2. Boqvist, Jesper
  3. 2024 3rd round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Parise, Zach
  2. Varlamov, Semyon
Additional Details:
Vary and Parise give Devils great playoff experience to one of the youngest roster in league. Blackwood is a cap dump, Isles won't resign him at the end of the year. Main piece for Isles is Boqvist, as the isles need more youth and speed. Take a flyer on him, he hasn't really yet. Most goals (10) last year.
3.
NYI
  1. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Mayfield, Scott
Additional Details:
Reports that Wild will move Dumba and his 6M salary. Mayfield replaces him on the 2nd line RD at a fraction of the salary (1.45M).

Canucks pass, Pearson is done for the year so his cap really doesn't matter this year, it's uncertain if he will return next year, also we really aren't looking to move Kuzmenko unless he won't re-sign, and if that's the case we can easily get a better package for him, his price starts with at least a 1st.

Totally agree 100%

Strongly rumoured they will resign him as he & Petey are golden together. Question is cost.

Umn no Minnesota is moving dumba because of cap issues, but they will keep hil for rest of year. Minnesota isn't trading for a D they don't need and won't resigned. You have the wrong team
