If Rutherford was made that offer, he would make cap for that

He sure would but lets be real here, its highly unlikely to happen.

Fine, let me correct, for the position Anderson would play on that Tavares/Marner line, Jarnkrok would be a better fit... better?

Anderson has intangibles at least-- toughness, size, goal scoring. I still don't consider the trade in the slightest.

I feel Anderson would fit if he had a better hockey IQ and was left handed

Anderson's best season was 47 pts in 2018-2019, in the 3 yrs after that he had 4pts in 26 games, 24 in 52, and 32 in 69 games, hes also a -52 over those seasons. He has just 17 pts in 46 games this year, hes not fast, doesn;t fight. I remain unconvinced hes a difference maker and I think you'd find nylander having to carry the puck and wait 20 seconds for tavares and anderson to catch up with him.

And VAN gladly takes liljegren and a 2nd for schenn.

But with the leafs losing Amirov to cancer and robertson tanking for a second season, trading a 1st, a 2nd, liljegren and niemala is probably a bad move, especially given the return above.

He is fast, he does fight, he can score 25 goals on a bad team. On a good team he's getting 30

I agree with the hockey IQ part... for a guy that big (besides the goal he scored) I didn't notice him at all when the Habs played the Leafs... is it just me?

Just you, Anderson has been pretty good the last 5-7 games, normally he is more unoticeable

Anderson has never played with a ppg player. Put him with 2 and he's getting 30 goals easily

That's probably it, he looked ok when he was playing with Slaf but hasn't looked good since moving on from that

Anderson can play. Is a fine middle 6 winger. At this cap hit, fine. There's just no way to reason giving up Liljegren, or Niemela in the deal-- let alone to replace with Luke Schenn.

But how does he fit with Tavares'/Marner's/Nylander's/Matthews' play style? He hit 27 goals in CBJ and hasn't hit 20 since... He's played with Caufield, Suzuki, Panarin, Seth Jones as examples

Liljegren has more value than schenn.

Anderson played with foligno and Jenner when he got 27. He's been on pace for over 20 every year in Montreal even when they're horrible

He’s scored 25 precisely once in his career. He’s scored 30 exactly zero times.

He’s not good enough to be put that high in the lineup.

He's better than all of torontos bottom 6 and he's better than bunting and jarnkrok

He’s not better than bunting.

I hope toronto does this, then Anderson is hurting both Toronto and montreal.

Awwww on pace. How nice for him. He’s also played at a 21 goal pace for his career and a 24 goal pace in montreal. Guy can’t do it and he can’t stay healthy. Stinks.

no one is discussing the insane retention on the trade. personally think that's more egregious than discussing if anderson is good for the umpteenth time

Ya bunting does suck. That's why anderson would be a good add. Bunting is a 4th liner/ahler playing with stars
