Dude, you're the one who goes around saying that like half the players on your terrible team are worth 1sts +

Me ? Where did you saw me trade a guy and say : yes, he is worth a 1st round pick
Never.
I said a team might overpay and give a 1st for Monahan if he keeps producing (prior to his injury). Now I can't see a team overpaying for Monahan
I said a team might overpay for Edmundson at the TDL like Chiarot, but that was prior to Edmundson playing like **** for 30 straight games.
I hope teams overpay for some of our players, but I don't defend them saying they are good and they are worth 1st round pick
I would give a 2nd for Monahan rental if healthy
I would give a 3rd round pick for Edmundson MAX to play 3rd pairing
Anderson is a tough one, he is overpaid and inconsistent but when he's feeling it, he is really good. But not Matthews,Marner,Nylander good, but like a top 6 forward

Can you answer my question tho, why are all Leafs players pretty good, but they can't pass the 1st round ?
A lot of people think it's because they aren't tougher or they don't play with heart
What do YOU think ?
Is it because of Holl all the time ?
You tell me

Lol, dude if you cant understand why players on a top 4 team are good then i cant help you, i mean i could cite tones of stats and the like but youd just hand wave it all away with "hurr durr 1st round". You arnt even trying to argue in good faith, so im not gonna dance.
And yes, ive seen you say many times that thr habs will get 1sts for terrible players

Good teams lose in the playoffs. Sometimes the better team. (I'm not claiming this to the case for TOR the past few seasons)
Always losing in the first round is largely a media narrative.

Often good teams look the same for 3-4 years+, losing in the playoffs-- until they don't lose, and everyone celebrates how they stayed the course and pulled through. Think Washington, Pittsburgh('16), even Tampa.

All it takes is one successful season, and the entire narrative changes. Conversely, there are teams like San Jose who can be considered favorites for what seems like forever, and never pull through.

Yeah I said they will get a 1st for Chiarot, I said it and we got it
So I was right, I said Lehkonen is worth more than a 2nd and we got way more
I said Kulak is worth a 3rd and we got more
So I'm right

You still can't answer why the Leafs can't pass the freaking 1st round ? Why ? They are all good but they can't win when it matters
Stop talking about the Habs players, they are irrelevant right now
Talk about why the Leafs choke every ****ing year

Dude, you brought up the 1st round stuff as a chirp, a bad lazy chirp. My acknowledging your bad chirp is all you're getting on that, you should really just enjoy watching your team blow a third lotto pick this year

You started by saying Jarnkrok was better than Josh Anderson
Yes I brought the 1st round thing because you think every Leafs players are better than players from other team (who some are superior to Leafs players). So in your delusion, I pointed out why a top team year after year lose in the 1st round against inferior hockey team. So there's no escape for you, you gotta face it. But you don't, and that's fine. Stay in your delusion, and I don't hate the Leafs, I think Dubas does a pretty good job, he just need to find his Arturri Lehkonen wink

1. Anderson hates the Leafs, he's said it and it's visible in the way he wakes up playing them

2. mtl believes that's a good offer without that crazy retention. Maybe find another team to take that cap.

Anderson played with foligno and Jenner when he got 27. He's been on pace for over 20 every year in Montreal even when they're horrible

Key word "on pace"

And i pointed out how he is, in fact better. Then you got mad and went to the default chirp against the leafs because you cant debate anything about anderson being better.

You pointed out goals and assists lol so anyone not watching hockey can know who's better than who by production ? I don't think so

Yes on pace because he is injured prone (tho he has been healthy for a while now). But Anderson can score goals, we can't denied that

Can we settle on 2 things:

1. Those trade never happens from Toronto's end

2. Montreal isn't retaining on Anderson

Ok, so tell me how anderson is better without making up fantasy point totals if they switched teams.
Is it that he scores at a worse goals per 60 rate? Or that he average over 3 mins more a game? That he gets better power play time? Or the fact that he is significantly worse defensively? Which one of those makes anderson better?

I can't but being on pace can't be used in an argument (see Matthews 10 games ago and Matthews now). Hockey is results based and Josh Anderson hasn't hit 20 goals since joining the Montreal Canadiens.

I'm not going to argue about his overall play in my opinion but rather about his fit on the Toronto Maple Leafs

Better shot, better skater, better at throwing the body

Jarnkrok is better defensively, better hockey IQ, better playmaker

There's a lot of players like Jarnkrok in the league, and not a lot like Anderson
So Anderson is more valuable, but that doesn't mean he is a better hockey player
But big guys who can hit and score goals and create space for their teamates makes the team better
So teams wins more games with bigger guy than smaller guy
Does that make sense ?

You start a team and you have to choose between Josh Anderson & Calle Jarnkrok making the same salary/terms
Who do you pick ?
32 NHL GMs would take Josh Anderson IMO

And were back to making up points because we cant defend our stance. Nope 36 nhl gms choose jarknrok, 2 future ones and 2 former ones on top of the 32 current ones.
Because, you said it yourself, jarnkrok is better

I really think some would look at the contract more than the player... and pick CJ. I would, too.

Same contract, 2 years 2M AAV
Who do you pick ?
You start with one or the other, so there is no : who would fit better under a certain team

There's no risk involved.

GMs probably say Anderson. Intangibles are there.
Coaches will tell you Jarnkrok. High IQ. Can move around the lineup. He's a security blanket.
