don't like the fit either. Cozens and Thompson are the 1-2 center core of the future...not sure adding a third would help, especially with how good Cozens has been.

...I don't think Horvat is needed

Sabres need massive #2 upgrade over Mitt's...

Horvat would be our 3rd line center, that's a lot of money to pay for that role.

Yeah Buffalo doesn’t make sense as a fit either with how good Thompson and Cozens are
While the Sabres are doing well being one the worse FO teams in the NHL, having some one who can win them would help in many fashions.
First, every time a PK team wins a FO at the start of the PK and can fire the puck down the ice, at least 15 seconds of the PK is consumed, or 1/8 of the PK.
Do that 4 more times and the PK is time is cut in half.
Second, the reverse on the PP, no additional explanation needed.
Third, in OT, get possession to start, be the first team to go on the offense.
Fourth, how good is Bo on the face off, no NHL player has won more FO over the past five years than he. More than O'Reilly, more than Bergeron, more than Kopitar.
Fifth, over his career he has averaged 27 goals/82 games.
Comrie, Östlund, Portillo, and two picks are peanuts compared to the value of Bo.
Bottom line, if Buffalo could get him for those assets, he would improve the PK, PP and the team over all scoring. The Sabres would be fools to say no even if RHD is a top priority.
BTW, I am not an advocate of trading away assets, but he would certainly make this team better.
The Sabres would need to be able to have a contract extension in place before the trade.
