LOL they talk to teams and if you believe otherwise there’s no foil hat big enough to suit that hollow thing you call your head.

Who said they speak to GMs directly? Do you have any idea how many other people are involved? Asst GMs, pro scouts, etc.
GMs don’t work in silos, there’s a whole team of people who give input on trades and are asked to scout specific players leading up to the deadline.
