The savard trade and the Chiarot trade are direct comps. He's exactly what a lot of teams want in the playoffs. Hope tampa trades for him

The savard trade set the market a few years back. He's exactly what a lot of teams want in the playoffs. Hope tampa trades for him

You’re not getting a 1st. 1 Savard was better at the time than Mayfield now. Tampa was desperate and teams just aren’t that desperate cause it’s a buyers market which also lowers the price.

Savard and chiarot got additional draft capital. Mayfield is absolutely worth a late 1st rounder.

Absolutely not from Buffalo
Wouldn’t even give u ONE 2nd right now, let alone 2 for a rental goalie
Especially when Anderson has played well for us
And the rookie we brought up has been playing well after a tough start- he’s now 13-5-1

Sabres wouldn’t be interested in Varlamov,
or ANY goalie (most likely)

It's the blueprint for every fan wanting to see their bottom pair defender get a major return. It's not happening

And to everyone else who isn't a MTL fan, the price tag paid for Chariot was a serious overkill. He is certainly not a benchmark, as much as fans of teams selling assets would like to believe.

Mayfield is a bottom-pair D on the isles but could play in a top-4 role. Also with 50% retention he makes below league minimum. The first isn’t necessarily just for the player, its the combination of his talent and super cheap contract

So could Justin Holl also fetch a 1st? He averages 20 minutes a night on a good team, has good defensive metrics and only makes 2 mil.
