You must know TO would have zero interest in moving Nylander

I don`t see the HABS accepting this trade. If you replace Alex for Hendrix the trade would happen

Alex will never make the NHL and that is not what the HABS are looking for

Obviously barring any major injuries (god forbid), Alexeyev is slated to be the Caps bottom LHD pairing for next season. He has played a handful of games with the Caps this season and has looked pretty good. I think he is a bottom pairing NHL defender. Skates well, is big, moves the puck fine - big knock on him (in my view) is 1. limited offensive ability and 2. needs to work on his speed/quickness.

EDIT: This is not me trying to advocate for this specific trade. Just providing some information on Alexeyev.

TOR isn't doing that trade.

Caps better not do the MTL trade. Edmundson is bad. Not sending a 2nd and a good young defender for him. I'd pay like a 5th for him at most.

LOL no way in hell Caps do this. Edmundson is bad. MTL be lucky to get this return. No way Caps are sending Alexeyev, a good young defender, and a 2nd for Edmundson, let along Lapierre and 2nd for him.

So you're one of those huh? Maybe the caps don't do this, but an actual NHL gm will.

Big, strong, shot blocking defensive dmen are ALWAYS coveted for deep playoff runs... especially those with stanley cup experience, let alone a SC ring.

That's a true point. There are dumb NHL GMs that would make that trade, but Caps wouldn't. They love their analytics. They won't spend that much for Edmundson.

If you would have showed me the ed/aa trade last year, I would have done it. Jon at NOVA caps said he thought he was tapped out in Hershey, meaning he hit a ceiling there and it wouldn't do much good keeping him in Hershey and I can see that he was right. AA has showed better than I thought and I wouldn't trade him now. I think he is a starter on the bottom pair with MF next year. The thing I like about him is that when he will take a shot on goal and it's always on goal, not missing wildly like some D men you will see when they try to shoot. I also like his size, first pass and he is usually in good position in the limited opportunities he has had.
