Depends when it's done. If it's after the season, it's probably too much. If it's before TDL, it's not enough.

If you want Horvat it’s gonna cost a lot! Probably Marco Kasper or Simon Edvinson and a first round pick minimum

Definitely not, Rasmussen and Veleno are not high end pieces.

It's not enough for right now. I think it takes a 1st, Veleno/Ras and either one of the good d prospects like Wallinder or maybe it's Hronek.

This is horrible for DET.

They can literally have him FOR FREE in the summer....

The price will also be far too high (both in assets and AAV)

Canucks are looking for at least one high end young player back in a Horvat deal. One of Berggren, Lucas, Edvinsson and Kasper or the 2023 1st and then some of the lesser players. Not this.....

I will wager Bo resigns where he is traded. I doubt he hits free agency.....

Too much in my opinion. One of Ras or Veleno and a pick would be fine but why give up key assets when we can sign him in the summer if he really wants to come here. I don't see why he would sign an extension before heading into free agency.

Detroit isn't moving any of those assets for Horvat.

It looks like it could be one of berggren or Elmer + one of veleno or Ras + one of their prospects not named cossa, Edvinsson or Kasper. So most likely Johansson or wallinder

Think Elmer, veleno + wallinder

Zero chance of either Kasper or Edvinsson getting moved. Since when do rentals get anywhere near bluechip prospects?

Zero chance of Horvat returning any one of those pieces. As far as a high end young player. The best you'd do is William Wallinder who'll be a top 4 pairing LD/RD. Rentals don't bring in bluechip prospects.

When you give him an extension right after the trade, the value goes up. Since it means that they could discuss with the player before the trade. They’re also the fact that he’s the biggest center available at the trade deadline

Did Seth Jones return a bluechip prospect No, Did Hampus Lindholm return a bluechip prospect No. Even with extensions in place rarely do they return high end talent.

They gave Adam Boqvist, and a very good pick.

I don't consider Adam Boqvist a high end piece, Plus he hasn't been able to stay healthy since joining the Blue Jackets.

I mean your opinion on Boqvist doesn’t matter, what matter is what the gms are thinking and at the time Boqvist was a huge prospect. They also got Sillinger and Jiricek on that deal. The first bit of this paragraph sounds a bit rude I’m sorry. My English isn’t that good so I don’t have a lot of words to choose from 😅

First of all those are not all "bluechip" prospects. Realistically Horvat will cost more than a few young bottom 6 pieces and a second, even as a rental. Detroit is not interested in a rental, so it's pretty much a given that Bo will resign if the trade is made. Detroit has the pieces to get this done and Horvat is a perfect fit. I believe this is the most likely destination and have since the summer.....let's see if that's true.

That's fine, but it still makes no sense for DET to trade for him.

Sounds very much like all in with Miller last year. Yes ideally one of those come over but Detroit has good prospects so building our prospect depth with guys like Wallinder, zadina (reclamation project that JR was talking about) one Rasmussen or Veleno, and 1st in 24 would be more then fair price.

I mean they’re gonna bet depth for a serious team. The bruins and other teams who are at one player away from a cub are gonna give more: more picks or a bigger prospect like Lysell
