I agree with the general idea here. I do have some criticisms

      1) I doubt that Boston would be trading Coyle even if they sign Horvat immediately. They will want to dump Smith and/or Reilly for cap.

      2) I don't think Vancouver should acquire Coyle. If they don't turn it around, then they are boxed in again, but even worse with EP up for an extension.

      3) Graves and Severson would be nice adds but I have a hunch that Vancouver would have to pay a lot more than that even if those were competitive offers, although I suspect that Graves will get 4.5m easily.

      4) Boeser to Minnesota even with that retention is unlikely considering that Greenway, if traded, would be a cap casualty. So just purely from a cap perspective I don't see it happening, but it's whatever, we will see what happens, but I would imagine that there would have to be a more larger trade.

Bruins say no with Coyle included in the deal and as others have mentioned no way he waives his NMC to go to Vancouver... at that price, Bruins would be better off waiting to sign him this summer without giving up any assets.

Okay, the NMC is granted but whats laughable? A 28OA (at best), B+ prospect, B- prospect and a 3C making too much money...

Fair points. Both were included to help the team trading them away. I dont think VAN would have particular interest in either.

Horvat had played first line minutes through his prime and has put up 2nd line numbers till his shooting % spike this year.
Coyle plays the most forward PK minutes on the best PK in the league where Horvat plays the most on a historically bad PK
Coyle plays 46 seconds a night on PP where as Horvat plays 4 minutes.a night. Bruins PP is 3rd in the league. Horvat will not be on first PP unit.

Horvat isn’t going to replace Bergeron or Krejci in their spots so getting a offensive center to play a defensive role does nothing for Boston.
