Dubois is only worth that much and probably a bit more if he comes with a long term extension. IOW, a sign and trade or a prearranged agreement to resign with the new team immediately after the trade. The only way anyone pays that much for Dubois is if he's is willing to extend long term with several teams that get into a bidding war (ala Matthew Tkachuk).

Exactly jets sign him for 8 years 8.5-9.5m and get an increased return

That's a fairly reasonable price for a young 1C.

These posts are simply idiotic. The jets can get more for PLD trading him next deadline to a contender tbh. Even as a rental he’ll fetch more than this. Also honestly with their window being this year and next they may end just riding him into free agency

I would like to see what contender has a top 16 pick, a top 4 RHD prospect and a top line forward available for trade at the deadline, cause never in the history of the NHL has a contender ever had all 3 of those available and traded them away for a rental.

Even then he wouldn’t be worth that much. You can remove Dach and replace him with something else and it might make some sense.

Bro they aren’t even going to get this much if they trade him now let alone next deadline where they will get even less.

Yeah then you don't get him huh? It's that easy because the jets are trading him and if it's not a deal here ig Dubois won't be a hab through trade and will either extend or trade and extend with another team Dubois > Suzuki

Give me the package from another team that rivals this one. He didn’t want to re-sign in Columbus or Winnipeg, so we can make the assumption that he wants to play in a big market. That removes about 2/3rds of the league right there. We’re left with probably 10-15 teams.

Rangers, Leafs, Habs, Chicago, Boston, Kings, Oilers, Flyers, Capitals. Kraken, Red Wings, Vancouver, Pittsburgh, Tampa let’s say.

Leafs can’t afford him, check them off. Chicago is rebuilding and just trading two players under 25, check them off. Boston has no prospects check them off. Oilers can’t afford him check them off. Flyers have no prospects and have Torts as a coach check them off. Caps have no prospects check them off, Pittsburgh and Tampa have no prospects and can’t afford him check them off. I’m sure he wants to be on a competitive team and not a dumpster fire so check Vancouver off the list.

So you’re left with maybe, LA, Seattle, Detroit.

Tell me the package you think they’re sending… lol plus he actually has to agree to sign with said team.

I would add the argument that Seattle is doing amazing right now and the problably don't want to move to much in fear to break the Chemistry between the team right now.

Detroit are on the fence right now about doing the series or be seller of Bertuzzi, Hronek, Larkin and all there UFA. They could presently miss the playoff which won't help them to add a big player for a big cost and miss there chance.

Which leave only L.A as really true possiblity. Could they package a guys like Alex Turcotte to acquire Dubois ? That an idea to explore.

Turcotte isn’t an A chip prospect anymore, maybe he still has the potential to be a 2nd liner or middle 6 guy, but he’s not even a great Ahler. Their 1st rounder will likely be in the 20’s. I don’t think they have anything to offer that is as enticing as the Florida 1st which will likely be in the 12 range. And on top of that we can offer a couple good prospects and a middle 6 centre in Dvorak.

That's Dubois price if he would sign long term with any NHL team. If he only wants to sign with MTL, his value would be alot lower.
