Kapanen is at worst equal to Domi - the only thing Domi has on him is playing center. So I'd much rather have Kap and a good backup goalie.

Maybe the UFA market is weak - but I'm sure that money can be better used than drastically overpaying a below average player. Bad bottom 6 contracts is why we are in the spot we are in. And this might be worse than any one we have now.

No - he doesn't look good. Domi has a 39% GF and a 43% xGF in the playoffs - literally the worst xGF% on the team. The team is underwater in every metric with him on the ice. Giving Domi 3x5 to play third line C is bad. Nothing has changed.

I'll extend the olive branch. Domi isn't useless - and I like his speed - at like 4mil as a wing I might take him. But he is a defensive nightmare - having him at 5mil to play 3C would just be very bad for the team.
