Salary Cap Mode: Basic

Description

- adding 3.625 to salary cap for Kane+McCabe double retention
- i don't know if kane would want to sign here considering that buffalo could offer him much more if they wanted to and he is from there.
- I admit I don't know how callups work in the playoffs, but I'm wondering if we could send down all our spare forwards/d and then call them up when the cap doesn't matter, or place someone on LTIR temporarily and reactivate them in the playoffs. If not, then we'd probably have to move kerfoot for a cheaper depth option. Seeing how his minutes have declined, I don't think that would be much of a problem.

Reportedly McCabe 50% retained would cost a 1st, so you're paying Knies, Niemela, and a 2nd for one year with Kane.

If I'm the Leafs, I'm not doing that.

In my mind, McCabe given his recent comments, he'd hop on the first flight to a contending team. Kane is another story though.

I think McCabe's NTC list is 7 teams for a reason. What country has 7 teams?

you're right, yeah. That sucks. We'll have to look elsewhere for a defencemen. I think we need a guy to stabilize our bottom 4. Liljegren, Sandin Holl and Giordano have been great, but I think it would be nice to take off their load. I don't realistically think we can improve on Rielly and Brodie as our top 2 d.

that's great news, I think he could really stabilize our bottom 4 d and offshore some of the workload from liljegren gio and sandin. it allows holl to be a 7th d as well and be our injury replacement

I’m not getting rid of Knies that’s number 1
number 2 that’s my only complaint, Knies stays then it’s fine

I'd like to think CHI accepts that trade. But I don't know what they think of Knies and Niemela. Both have come back down to earth a bit from having REALLY good seasons last year. But I doubt TOR is willing to part with those prospects unless they are getting players help them in the long run.
