unlikely but not that unrealistic (lots of reading)

Created by: Linlan
Team: 2017-18 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 7, 2017
Published: Jun. 7, 2017
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Lindberg's contract similar to Järnkrok (NSH).
Fast could get more money, time will tell.
Shattenkirk's contract is more of a pray that the rumors about hometown-discount rly means hometown-discount.
Not even gonna discuss Zibanejad's contract, i think that's a great contract for him and the team.
Kinkaid could turn out to be a great backup with Allaire's magic while Halverson develop in AHL and Shestyorkin develop in KHL, contract similar to Raanta's.
Smith wants market value and more then this contract and i think he should go, but i would love to have him stay, especially after giving up those picks to acquire him.
Staal and Holden should split time on the 3rd pairing LD slot and never be paired together again.
Is Poink ready for NHL yet? i think he should spend one year on 1st pair in AHL but a good trainingcamp could give him a spot on the opening night.

Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Strome, Dylan
Additional Details:
Arizona gets a experienced 50-60p Center, one that will be a leader and tutor to this young team
Arizona can still without Strome go: Stepan - Dvorak - Keller - Bolland/Holland/Burmistrov/Jooris
Rangers add Graves from their deep LHD pool that could be ready for 3rd pair slot next season
ARI
  1. Graves, Ryan
  2. Stepan, Derek
Additional Details:
Rangers gets a big young NHL-ready Center with lots of talent, that according to some rumors doesn't seem to be working out to Arizonas expectation. NYR free up cap space while getting younger and still keeping center-depth
2.
NYR
VGK
  1. Klein, Kevin
  2. 2017 4th round pick (FLA)
  3. 2018 4th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
Expansion pick with bribe
3.
NYR
  1. 2017 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
CGY get #21 overall and what all points to a #1 starter for a few years while their prospect goaltenders develop
CGY
  1. Raanta, Antti
  2. 2017 1st round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
NYR get #16 overall
Question is, is the value there for NYR and if not what would they need to add?
Rangers use #16 pick to target Timothy Liljegren is the draft or take BPA if he's gone
4.
NYR
  1. 2018 7th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
1 July trade
Vegas wanna build through the draft so will a conditional 1st round pick 2018 from NYR tempt them with condition that Vegas get the pick if Rangers reach conference-final and if not, Vegas recieves the 2nd and 3rd round pick 2018?
VGK
  1. Girardi, Dan
  2. 2018 1st round pick (NYR)
  3. 2018 2nd round pick (NYR)
  4. 2018 3rd round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
This is a difficult one since we don't know how many heavy contracts Vegas will take on prior to the draft or which teams Girardi will have on his M-NTC. But i see Vegas as the only team that can take on Girardi's full contract since Vegas first draftpicks ELC will expire same year as Girardi's contract

No 2-4th round this year and no 1-4th round next year, will be IMPOSSIBLE for fans to not flip out on Gorton. A 1,2 and 3rd round pick to take DG makes it tough.

Rather just keep Girardi for the year and buy him out next year. We can't keep trading picks. We need to restock the prospect pool. I'd rather move Holden for a pick and see if we can convince Staal to waive the NMC to be a 2nd pair elsewhere. Staal still has a few good years ahead of him, he just can't be paired with guys like Holden that are basically a 4th FWD when on the ice. Staal with a halfway decent partner and he becomes his old self.

did you read it correctly? it either a 1st round pick (#28-31) OR a 2nd and 3rd. and would you rather this 2017 draft have #21 and a 4th or #16?

i didn't tried to make a Staal trade cause i see it too unrealistic he'll waive his NMC, and i agreed that he can't be paired with Holden as a specifically wrote in description
yes we need to restock the prospect pool, but it's not that awful as people try to make it seems. NYR signed Bereglazow, Poink, Nell, Lettieri, Pedrie, Leedahl in just a few month as free agents. and in this post you also get Strome who's a high-end prospect. Getting rid of Girardi for either #28-31 pick or 2nd and 3rd round pick 2018 while possibly getting Liljegren at #16 in 2017 draft makes things in my mind less heartbreaking to deal with a few picks to get rid of his FULL contract instead of some buyout penalty
