Description
Half meme, half serious. I think 9million is really steep and probably way too much for Horvat, but there's certainly room here with some relatively easy cap dumps.

The trade: probably just being lazy, they can be different deals if absolutely necessary. Pearson and the 2nd as a camp dump to one spot, the two defensemen and Bear RFA rights as the cap dump to the other. I just stuck with CHI since they will arguably have the largest cap space (assuming all UFAs are dealt) and will need that cap floor next year. Everyone in this trade is on an expiring contract so it should really be no issue to make happen

I know I short changed Hoglander, but he's in the AHL and will barely see top 9 time on this roster barring some weird line combos (ie, I don't think splitting up the 3 centers will work full time for this team). Either way, he has a quick 1 year prove it deal

I know EP40 expires after this year, but no problem. So does Tyler Myers, and the cap is also going up to 92.5mil or so. With this, they should have plenty to re-sign EP40 and seek out an actual top 4 defenseman

Luke Schenn pairs really well with Quinnathon, but I can't imagine him making more than 2.5mil. I think he'd sign that in a heartbeat honestly

Bottom D pairing is very suspect, but their top 4 should play majority of the game. Substitute with comparable contracts if at all possible

No is going to either want 8 years from you guys or 7 on the market — max years he can’t get

If he takes less term he will want a higher aav so either way he will get his bread

I'd give him 8 years. Wasn't sure if the issue between the two was dollars or term, so just met in the middle

I know they're already moving on from him allegedly, just wanted to see how it'd look, and how easy or hard it'd be, to actually keep him

At this point, why? It's clear that management has made him upset. As much as I bet he would like to stay for the deal he wants, why would he with this management? They have done noting for him and often put him on the spot for not signing a team friendly deal while giving out massive contracts to Miller, Mikheyev, Kuz and technically Boeser even though his deal is short.

I should've put in the description, but I know that this is already not gonna happen at this point. I meant it more as a, "Why wasn't it possible before". My apologies for it being unclear

Especially with the season the way it is, it completely makes sense for them to get some picks and try to retool a little bit with his absense. But I don't think it would've been that hard for them to make a few cap dumps and sign him in this past offseason
