If you want to avoid pursuing big name players, and instead focus on plugging in less expensive options (Kulikov, Nyquist, etc), that's fine.
But you can't then offer a proposal for a big name player, for much less than their market value, just because you want them at 50 cents on the dollar.
The absolute smallest package that could land Tarasenko, as is, would be Kravtsov and a 2023 1st. Substituting Goodrow's lengthy Contract in there, with no 1st Rounder at all, is by no means a justifiable replacement.
