Why…? That’s probably under what Sevo’s value would realistically be if he was on the market.
Though I don’t think the Canucks would make sense for him right now.

More because the Canucks shouldn’t be giving up picks with their shallow prospect pool, especially an early 2nd in a deep draft. If they really want Severson they should target him as a UFA, or maybe move a winger for him

A 2nd rd pick is nowhere near worth the egregious downgrade moving from Severson to Schenn represents.
Schenn has been quite terrible this season whereas Severson is playing brilliantly.

As for the Meier deal it looks like a quite significant overpayment, your suggested package is bigger than what the Sabres got for Jack frickin Eichel.
Mukhammadulin could be removed and the Sharks would still comfortably get fair market value for Meier.
Also, by GSAx, Reimer would present a downgrade at backup over Blackwood, so no point in the Devils doing that swap.
