    Easy decline from Wings.

Keep the 1st. Ras and Kasper and take your chances to sign Horvat as a UFA. If you dont get him you still have Ras, Kasper and a 1st.

Ras is a late bloomer but he really looks to be finding his place in the NHL. It will only go up for him.
Kasper is a very good prospect. Same numbers as Raymond had in the SHL at the same age.

Im not as high on Kasper as most people but I'd hate to have to include him in a horvat deal.

Kasper's number in the SHL are the same as Raymonds numbers were at the same age...and he's a center. Scouts rave about his competitiveness and coachability. Why would you not be stoked about him? Dude has Henrik Zetterberg 2.0 written all over him.

This Horvat stuff really needs to stop.

First off - it makes no sense for the Wings to trade for him. They are not in the position to give up valuable picks and roster players for Horvat. They can have him FOR FREE in the summer.

Second - Is Horvat really worth those assets and that AAV? He is conveniently having the best year of his career in a contract year....no thanks.

I agree, not super high on him. However, I was really low on Ras and he has come around in a major way so who knows.

Pass on the Horvat trade, Zero chance of Kasper getting moved for Bo Horvat.

And when all is said and done, Both Horvat and Larkin will get closer to $9,000,000 per than $8,000,000 per which neither will accept.

Detroit are not trading for Horvat, it makes ZERO sense.

Trading a first is a move you make when you're RIGHT there to compete for a cup, not just trying to make the playoffs. Drafting and developing is where your stars come from (Seider, Raymond) and if you get lucky, you land a big fish in FA occasionally. Even the FA angle isn't always great, because you're paying for what players have done in the past, not what they WILL do, which further emphasizes the need to hit on drafting and development.

Hopefully Kasper, Edvinsson, Wallinder and Cossa all turn into what we all think they will be and then we're doing pretty well. Then, if you get lucky on guys like Mazur, Hanas, etc, then we're in REALLY good shape.

Trading for and THEN paying a boat load to a guy who is having a career year (during a contract year, at an unsustainable ~22% shooting percentage) and would be in his mid 30s at the end of the contract is not great asset management.

Don't get me wrong, I like Horvat, but as a FA target, not as a trade target. Roll the dice he makes it to UFA and take our shot then, if not, so be it.

Sure Ras has looked better, I like the big fella but it's 5 years later and he's a middle 6 maybe 40 pt winger. Kasper has to be so much better and sooner to.

Absolutely. Ras was barely NHL level for the first 4 years so even as a middle 6 that's a massive improvement.

Kasper is now where Veleno was 3 years ago, we need him to become 1C or really good 2C real quick. Idk if that's gonna happen.

14 points in his last 17 games. The game winner last night that he set up was really nice and the other night that no look through the crease to Perron was really nice as well.

Switch Rasmussen for Veleno and I'd probably do it.

With Kasper coming I'd rather move Veleno than Ras too. Kasper is going to be Veleno at a minimum I think so keeping Ras is the better option.

Kind of like Yin and Yang. Kasper won't put up big numbers but is solid defensively Horvat can put up big numbers but isn't as solid defensively.

You mine as well ask for wallinder and Eddy as well. Nothing like this trade is happening. Kasper is untouchable , so are our firsts and ras improving all the time.
