I think its safe to say the Blues would pass on that.

2nd is a good start. One of the two prospects may be something to put in there. Take out the other and add in the OTT 3rd and i think you're close. I'm not sure how the Leafs are contract wise, but I dont see two longshot NHL prospects both forwards being that much of a real want for the Blues.

How has Barbashev looked this season compared to last season?

if we pay a first and cap-strap ourselves for 4 years for Scott Laughton I'll die. Thankfully Dubas would never.

Wouldn’t cap-strap us he basically takes kerfoots cap for next year and is definitely better then kerfoot and plays a style Toronto needs

I would maybe change to prospects but blues fan for some reason think they are getting a crazy haul for Barb. He’s good but the Avs last year payed a 2nd and an ok prospect for Lehkonen and he was having a better year last year then Barb is this yesr and he came with team control so if anything Barb is worth less then what the avs payed

He's looked fine. He had the type of 60 point season last season where you don't even realize it until you look at the stat sheet. But the whole team was performing at a much higher level last season.

Barbashev isn't a 60 point top end scoring player. He's a middle 6 very flexible player who can play all 3 forward spots and do so up and down the lineup very comfortably. Heavy forechecker, and plays the body quite a bit. Great PKer and a decent option on the powerplay although you don't get him to expect him to change the dynamic of a powerplay. He's probably going to settle as a 40-50 point player and have that flexibility while playing a heavy game

Barron was a recent 1st round pick. Saying a 2nd and an ok prospect is pretty disingenuous. Lehkonen also hadn't eclipsed 30 points in a season at the time of him being traded. He was in the midst of a career best season in which he was pacing about 41 points in an 82 game pace.

Barbashev is coming off of a 60 point season. It's not the same situation. The extra year of control is certainly a help to your argument. But if your argument is basing the return off of what Lehkonen got then I think we are pretty similarly on the same page.

In this instance lets not act like Abruzzese and Voit are a similar tier prospect as Barron. And to be fair alot of the issue is that Acciari has some very solid value himself. He's certainly not a throw in.

I think you're looking between the lehkonen return and Copp return for Barbashev alone.

Love Laughts, but if Fletcher is the GM at the TDL, they won’t give Laughton up. They SHOULD trade him just for that late 2023 1st alone. The Flyers have no 2023 2nd, and that 1st can make up the difference. But the GM is a moron…I hate Chuck Fletcher so much.
