The Wild don't need either of those pieces. Assuming Hinostroza is just a dump and Johnson is carrying the value. The Wild already have Lambos, O'Rourke, Hunt, Peart all vying for spots on the roster in the next couple years, as well as Brodin and Middleton already occupying two of the spots.

Minnesota declines. MTL fans will complain. I think if Portillo has a contract that trade would be fine

I don’t think Johnson signs with MIN, even though he plays at the U I think he’s from SoCal and the Wild pipeline is pretty jammed. I also think only BUF can get that compensatory pick if Johnson doesn’t sign, but a late 2nd would be good value for Greenway from an MIN POV. One of those 2nds this year is probably more than fair value.
