  1. Fabbro, Dante [RFA Rights]
  2. Tomasino, Philip
  3. 2023 1st round pick (NSH)
Additional Details:
Nashville is rumored to have interest. They have an old core and are in win now mode whether you like it or not as a fan.

Fabbro and Dermott are basically a wash in this trade (maybe slight advantage to Fabbro given pedigree and RHD) leaving Tomasino + 1st for Horvat
NSH
  1. Dermott, Travis [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Bo Horvat 50% retained

That Nashville offer for Horvat doesn't get accepted, Both Allvin and Ruthetford what teams high end prospects which you don't provide. Any team going after Horvat offers way better than this.

LA isn't giving up a 1st round pick for Demko, even if the Canucks take back Petersen. They'd rather just stick with what they have.

Tomasino is a high end prospect and fits in the age range of NHL ready players they are looking for. Fabbro also fits the age range basically swapping LHD for RHD. I'd be quite content with that return from a Canucks perspective.

I'm not convinced of that. I think it would really depend who is available at the draft when LA is picking. If there is someone they really like then they wouldn't move the pick but if there isn't anyone they are crazy about I think they would consider trading it. A lot of this would hinge on Demko coming back this season and looking like the healthy top 10 goalie he has been in the past.

Basically I see it similar to the Kuemper trade which was Timmins + 1st + conditional 3rd. Except in this situation you've got Grans + 1st for Demko and then Anderson-Dolan (RFA rights) as sweetner to take back the Petersen contract and make it a a cap neutral trade.

I think I’d be happy with that as a Canucks fan tbh

The difference with Kuemper is that Colorado was an average goaltender away from winning a Stanley Cup, and they needed an inexpensive goalie option to backstop them through the playoffs. The Kings window hasn't opened yet, and Demko costs too much for too long. If he had one year left at $3.5M contract, then maybe the Kings would be interested.

Also, don't forget that Arizona retained nearly 25% of Kuemper's contract for that return.

I disagree on a few things there. I think LA's window has opened now (and it is going to be a long window). Demko is a pretty cheap contract for 3years if he is providing top 10 goaltending and I think the Kings need a better goalie going forward as they don't really have any long term solutions there. I think Demko at 3x5mil brings more value than a goalie on a one year deal. Again this hinges heavily on Demko coming back this season and proving that he is top 10 goalie in the league and healthy. If LA believes he is that guy then he brings great longterm value to the team (not to mention he's a cali boy).

As the Canucks I would be potentially be willing to negotiate on that 1st round pick. Maybe it is a 2024 2nd that turns into the first if Demko plays X amount of games or they win X amount of playoff rounds and then add a 2023 3rd or something instead.

It's 2 roster players and a high end prospect, Not one roster and one high end. And Fabbro is garbage. At one time he was considered untouchable and now Poile can't wait to get rid of him. That offer is still beaten and Horvat wants to play closer to home and Nashville is about 800 miles from London Ontario.

As a long-time LA Kings season ticket holder and someone that has followed the team closely for decades, I can assuredly tell you that the window isn't open yet. Anyone in LA would tell you the same. They're a bubble playoff team. Their quality young players like Byfield, Turcotte, Kaliyev, Vilardi, Clarke, etc. need significantly more experience before they can take a meaningful stab at the postseason. They don't have the tools to win a seven-game series against teams like Tampa Bay or Boston.

If the Kings were a goaltender away from being a Cup contender, then I'd maybe consider this trade. However there's too many other gaps in the lineup for that to be a realistic outcome. 1 or 2 years from now, maybe they'd consider it.

A conditional 2024 2nd that turns into a 2024 1st if the Kings make the Stanley Cup Finals this season or next would definitely make this trade more palatable. Like you said, Demko needs to come back and put up some pretty stellar numbers before that would happen though.

Lebrun " They want a young center and a young defender on top of a first round pick". This is pretty close to that. And just because that is what they are asking for doesn't mean they will get that return. I agree Fabbro has been garbage and i'm not that hopeful for him but it seems like the type of player that this management would target.

would think the caps stay away from a mantha for either boeser or garland swap, the extra term hurts way too much. don't know much about rathbone but from my brief googling I think that the caps just stick with their guy -- alexeyev has been a perfectly serviceable 6/7d on a competing team and rathbone cannot crack maybe the worst D corps in the entire league. johansen/rathbone is closer in value imo

    I saw
Just letting u know that i don’t think a 2nd from Buffalo would be an option

I don’t think it would be from another team either
    That’s just my opinion though
