Description
Carolina Trade - If the Canes are offering Kotkaniemi and the ask is Necas, Jarvis is a solid compromise. I think the comp for Horvat is Landeskog (I don't believe for a minute there is a team willing to pay him 9 Mil per). Sooner or later, the Canes have to get outside their comfort zone and take a shot; the Cup only favours the bold. Horvat is the perfect fit there.

Buffalo Trade - Word is the Sabres want to stay the course this year, but there might also be a desire to give the current group some help to reward their play. This is a low event way to do that without moving too far off the long term plan. There is still a good player in Brock, he just needs a fresh start, and while the goal total might be low this year, he's still on a career pace for points.

Edmonton - This year's 1st round pick isn't going to help McDavid win the Stanley Cup. This pick has to be in play; the Oilers could probably get Gavrikov for Bourgault and either Foegele or Ryan (to make the money work). Do both those deals and the Oilers are a clear favourite in the West.

Nashville Trade - it's just going to elicit the same old "Myers is crap" arguments, and I don't care.

Overall, it's a bit of a risk for Vancouver not holding out for a centre in the Horvat deal, and gambling that you'll get a shot at Yager. But outside of Bedard, he fits the bill in Vancouver. He has enough skill for the top 6 and plays a complete 200 foot game.

And no, I'm not afraid of an OEL buyout. So you pay him 4.8 mil in years 3 and 4, so what? The trade off is the cap flexibility, which should carry a lot of weight for this team at this point.

And I'm extending Pettersson for 8 years at $11.5M AAV.

Still work to be done to get them into the top 8 in the league, but it's a start that fits the retool blueprint. And it should be enough to satiate the "rebuild" mob for now.

A little too ambitious on the Horvat and Schenn returns. Boeser at this point I think gets either a 2nd or similar level prospect, not both. Might be better to wait until the offseason to move him

I mean... If you're not willing to hear criticism, why even make an ACGM?

It's not even about Myers being crap (which, he is), it's about a need for position.
Preds are in no need for an older, RHD. Especially not Myers. And we certainly aren't paying a 3rd for him.

    Waddell isn't trading Morrow.

Zero chance in hell of Bo Horvat signing for 8 x $7,500,000 when other teams will offer him far more than that.

Canucks insider Rick Dhaliwal already basically said it's down to Boston and Detroit for Bo Horvat. And Detroit 100% beats this offer.

FYI Allvin wants a young NHL RHD now not in the future. So i doubt Morrow would be of interest. Think Carlo from Boston and Hronek from Detroit.

Canes wouldn't even consider Jarvis straight up for Horvat.

Who has officially said the Canes are offering Kotkankemi…no one. It’s all speculation.

You’re on crack if you think Jarvis is on the table for Horvat. That you expect both Jarvis and Morrow on top of a 1st is ridiculous.

I’d be highly surprised if the Canes we’re considering moving Morrow too.

Willing to pay a second tops for Shenn. First could go towards something way better.

That is a package for EP40, not Horvat. Canes tell you to firmly get lost. Drop Jarvis, drop Morrow, and get Horvat to agree to an extension around 7. They might consider that. He's a 50 point guy in a career year. He is not going to be doing this year after year. We all know that. If the ask is Necas, Carolina will straight up walk away. Necas is a point per game player. If the ask is Jarvis, they will do the same. I doubt they'd even offer Kotkaniemi. Vancouver fans saw that Rutherford wanted a young center and imagined it would be KK because Rutherford. Vancouver are not going to get a roster player out of Carolina for Horvat. That's the long and short of it
