I’m not saying the Sharks shouldn’t try to re-sign Timo, but they quite literally haven’t made him an offer and don’t plan to. They’re letting OTHER teams discuss with him so they can get more in a trade. Don’t ask me why the FO is doing this, as he is by far the best player they’ve had yet the only one they’re letting walk, but this is how it’s playing out.

I wouldn't say they don't plan too, both parties just agreed that they shouldn't do it during the season back in October, but there is still contact, I think MG said last week they are having very positive talks like biweekly or something like that. But certainly he knows the position the sharks are in, and teams only get to talk to meier about extending if the sharks get an offer they like first, so its a little bit of a weird situation. Also this week it was reported timo wants an 8x9whcih should be very very doable for the sharks
