There's no way Tyler Bertuzzi is taking a $100,000 paycut on a 4 year deal. That might get Bertuzzi for 1 year but for 4 years you're looking at between $5,500,000 to $6,000,000 per.

Offer is fine, But Bertuzzi would only take that in Detroit not NJ.

There's enough surplus cap here to compensate. But Bert's injury history (missing most of 2 of past 3 seasons) may probably limit what teams will give. I don't watch wings games, but it looks like he's struggled upon return? Maybe a 5.5x3 would be better - short term for a shaky injury history?

5.5x3 is more realistic than 4.65x4 which there is no way he's going to take. Outside of his back i'd hardly call it an injury history. Getting hit in the hand twice while attacking the net is just misfortune.

Sharangovich is not a good return for Detroit. We have too many left shooting wingers as it is. If Bert is traded it should be with a right shooting winger or centre coming back. Value might be in the right ballpark but the piece is wrong.

most of those left shooters dont seem to have a long term place tho

I could see Sharangovich pretty much playing where Bert is playing now.

Copp, Fabbri, Kubalik, Rasmussen, Berggren and Veleno are all currently left shooting forwards on the team for next season. Kasper is also a lefty that could surprise and be on the team next year. Maybe Zetterlund or Clarke come back this way, don't know much about Clarke and his play though. I like Zetterlund and I think he could blossom in Detroit. I would expect Holtz be off the board for Bertuzzi. I also like McLeod but I think he's mostly a career fourth liner.

Trust us we've tons more of left shooters coming up to replace those that are leaving, We really don't need another one.

    Bertuzzi
    Vrána
    Kubalík
    Fabbri
    Berggren
    Söderblom
    Rasmussen
    Zadina
    Suter
    Veleno

All on the roster for next year and then there are

    Kasper
    Andreasson
    Hanas
    Lombardi

    in GR.

We are not looking for left shooting wingers in any return at all. We have so many that we are actively trying to trade them away.

I wouldn’t want to see that price given up for Bert, simply because of that injury history. Not worth a guy who barely plays anymore

I'd probably rather have Sharangovich than Bertuzzi. Maybe we sign Bertuzzi....but doubt we would trade for him unless the price is very cheap.

Detroit needs right handed centers RW and we need to start building up our right handed D as well.
