Oh i forgot, carrier is a from quebec so we must trade 2 guys who are each miles ahead of him in term of value PLUS a 2nd round pick which no one will even offer on its own for carrier because we're the montreal canadiens and somehow ppl still think we care if you're from QC or not

The Habs really want to hold on to Guhle, as they don't have many like him. I think the Johansen trade is actually bad for the Preds; Joey is frustrating but what he does provide is still valuable (at the very least, he can take minutes during times Parssinen or Novak have slow periods). And I can't imagine Seattle wanting to take on Duchene's contract.

I wouldn't take it personally. Not with hot takes like this:

2nd pick >> carrier

Not even between these two teams. You must have missed the year of Habs fans convinced NSH would have to give them every asset the Preds have, otherwise MTL was going to convince Weber to retire early and stick NSH with a $20M+ cap hit.

Montreal says: Thank you for calling but we politely and respectfully decline the offer

In French it means: Ben voyons donc calice!

Over long-term, Guhle > Carrier but if Carrier signed super-cheap, I could see how it could get close between the two. But I’d think Montreal hangs onto Guhle though.

Maybe just Barron/2nd for Carrier without the other pieces.

With a need for rhd, mtl should keep Barron. That 2nd has more value to the Habs too.

There's a 5 year age gap between the two. Mtl ain't gonna be competitive for the next 3 years, when Carrier is 29, Barron is 24, and that 2nd round pick is 21.
