The Roy trade is good for Ottawa if the Kings have any interest in doing that

The second trade is pretty bad for Ottawa. Mads Sogaard just turned 22 y/o, which is very young for a goalie. It would be a huge mistake to trade the 6'7 goalie now

Not only they give up Sogaard but add a 1st, Brannstrom and Joseph? Goalies are not worth that much, particularly a guy signed 3 more years at 5.0 AAV who has been struggling as much

No way I'd give up Sogaard or a 1st for Demko contract

Here's the problem I see with all of the recent Thatcher Demko trade proposals:

Demko was horrible this year, almost undoubtedly due to his injury. When he returns from rehabbing that injury, and plays the last third of the season, one of two things will happen:

1. Either he will display his earlier form, in which case why would Vancouver trade him; or
2. He will not show any marked improvement, in which case why would the acquiring team want him?

Dimitri Kulikov played very well for us this season, and in particular has looked good lately playing with Cam Fowler even though that's his offside. I think we're highly likely to offer him at least $1.5 million for a couple of seasons.

Ain't doing that either lol

Forsberg has been as good as Demko last season and much better this season

Are we asking for a 1st + Rathbone + Linus Karlsson?

Forsberg also has the much better contract

The thing is Demko struggled for like 15 games behind a garbage defense, other than those games he's been nothing but fantastic since becoming the starter. Also, I'm that toxic Vancouver fans saying to start Martin didn't help at all with his confidence. I have a hard time believing Demko won't bounce back though
