DeBrincat vs Marino - Thoughts

Description
Goaltending : I would target one of Frederik Andersen or Semyon Varlamov. I think they could touch a little bit more than what Jake Allen got from MTL, which is 2 years @ 3.85M AAV. I think there’s more chance Canes resign Andersen than Lou giving that type of contract to Varlamov

Let me know if you would bring back C.Brown if he’s healthy for next year

DeBrincat next contract reduces his value IMO

Debrincat got the 7th overall++ . Marino got a 3rd and a bottom 4 LD prospect.

It would take another good forward piece or 1st to get the deal done

I'll agree. I would love to aquire Cat if the trade was Severson + pick and prospect. Marino is not untouchable but he's in that range

Devils probably add, but there's too many "if"s to really evaluate it.
If DeBrincat is available, he might be like NJ's 3rd or 4th option if nothing else pans out.

You forget 2 very key things here

1. Tommy Fitz has already alluded to going hard for Timo Meier, when Tommy Fitz says hes going to do something goddammit it gets done.
2.Damon Severson is a Free Agent after this season, the whole reason we traded for Marino was to replace him, the Devils dont see Sevo as a key piece after this year so we are either going to trade him at the draft or just let him walk (highly unlikely as someone somewhere would cough up a 24 pick or a prospect to get his signing rights)

Yeah Meier make more sense because he will probably cost Holtz and a 1st instead of a roster player helping the team now

That is your opinion, I don’t think Boyd is worth a 2023 3rd round pick
You counter offer is ridiculous, a 10th OA + an early 2023 2nd for taking Zaitsev is ridiculous. Stecher doesn’t have terms, this is an offseason trade. The 2023 draft will be done by now

Depends on if DeBrincat has an extension or not. Personally I think even 1 for 1 that ends up being a steal for NJ with or without an extended Cat
