Meier

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 29, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Trades
MTL
  1. Meier, Timo
  2. 2023 5th round pick (SJS)
  3. 2025 5th round pick (SJS)
Additional Details:
Still young and the kind of player that Hughes like.
SJS
  1. Anderson, Josh
  2. Mesar, Filip
  3. Struble, Jayden [Reserve List]
  4. 2023 1st round pick (FLA)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
IMPORTANT: Anderson is only here so that San Jose gets a player back. Imo, GMs either LOVE or hate Anderson. Idk which is the case for Grier, but if he doesnt we can switch Anderson with Dvorak or Edmundson. To some habs fans this may be a lot but Struble is really expandeble because of our depth at the left defense. Mesar is a really good prospect with good potential but if we get Meier, we're gonna have to give up a good prospect like him.

From Pierre LeBrun, a team proposed a 1rst for Anderson. Sharks can just flip him right back for a 1rst.

Idk, they probably have interest in three first-round picks.

Any GM offering a 1st for Josh Anderson should be fired ASAP, he got paid $5,500,000 for putting up one season of 47 points from Columbus. he's at least $1,000,000 overpaid and basically a 20-30 point winger.

If I were a Habs fan, I'd be livid if Hughes turned down a 1st to get that contract off the books. I call bullsh*t, or the team sending the first was asking for significant retention.

Agreed, but thats not my problem. Pierre LeBrun is one of the best insider, if he said it, thats likely true. Doubt San Jose would turn down an extra 1rst

Hearing a possible Anderson to Calgary deal, Brad Treliving would only be the one dumb enough to offer up a 1st for Josh Anderson.

Alberta turns people crazy, I wouldnt be surprised if Ken Holland was also involved in the Anderson talks

I mean, you either trust Pierre LeBrun or you trust Hughes.

I don't doubt LeBrun, I would just wager there was a lot more to the trade than Anderson for a 1st straight up. Or again, it's either that or Hughes should be getting some heat right now for turning that down.

No interest in this deal. Would be looking for one of the firsts + Guhle + some lesser prospect like Mesar

Lets keep cap dumps out of it, not like you need the salary space
