That's an easy no from Vancouver. Way too much salary retention. Highly doubt they retain any salary at all with garland.

Ehh... it's one thing to hope that Buch is available (even when you probably knows he's not). It's quite another to imagine the Blues would bother responding to this offer. if you have to pile up six pieces to get a guy not named McDavid, you're almost certainly doing it wrong.

educate yourself on the prospects, engvalls a contract for salary. and the blues are basically a tire fire, theyre about to lose both orielly and senko, have no blueline or goaltending. they should be looking to tear down the "core" and get as many assets as possible imo

so you wouldnt take robertson for a guy who maybe gets a third on the market? idk why robertson is so undervalued on here, very high potential to become a very good goal scorer. Id keep him if i was dubas but with knies and amirov coming up idk if theres room

I know the buyout structure I've been saying since the beginning of the season that he's a sneaky buyout candidate. However, now that tocchet is here I don't think they will buy him out. Tocchet really liked him in Arizona and garland has responded well in the limited 3 games tocchet has been here. I still think they'll try to move him out but I no longer think he is a buyout candidate or a salary retention candidate. You can only retain on 3 salaries at any given time. Retaining on him for 3 years is just too limiting in that respect.

Setting aside your sorely overwrought assessment of the team... I do know the prospects, and if you think they get you near Buch you are volunteering for a custom reality, bud.

i guess we will see but with dubas scouting the canucks so much lately than the smoke around the buyout, i think theres something there. van management isnt the smartest so

”A guy who maybe gets a third” if you really think so you’re clueless. His compararables in a trade are the Savard and Chiarot trades.

chiarot was an outlier similar to foligno, do you see every 34 year old defensive checker that has "intangibles" go for the same price as foligno?

I definitely think there's some smoke around Garland and Toronto I just don't think Vancouver is willing to retain at this point in time. Same goes for Boeser. I'd they can't find a suitor at the deadline they will wait until the offseason when there is more capspace available and see if they can find a deal at that time.

Probably more likely that dubas was watching Schenn, McCabe (Chicago game), Gavrikov (CBJ game). He was in town for the CHL top prospects game predominantly.

I do think it is unlikely that STL moves Buchnevich when you look at the multi year team composition. I feel Thomas and Buchnevich are close to untouchable just due to team control, cap, and performance. That being said, ya never know what’s gonna happen until it happens.

Big defensive dmen (especially one on a good contract) that can play top 4 minutes always get overvalued at the deadline. The recent comparable trades would be Chariot and Manson.

Chariot 50% retained went for a 1st + 4th + low prospect
Manson went for a 2nd + good prospect

Mayfield should get a return somewhere in this range.

Your offer is substantially low. Robertson probably has 2nd round pick (roughly) value on the market. You're also asking for nyi to retain salary AND take back a more expensive pending UFA contract. With everything you're asking for you're probably looking at a 1st + Robertson at minimum.

Buch isn't available. Don't know where you are getting your info. Also that offer isn't really appealing. Theoretically any Buch offer starts with Knies plus a first

I would assume it's OEL getting boughtout since it seems like he would only waive for Boston who probably don't want him nor can afford him and maybe SEA. The easiest path for Vancouver management to move him out though is a buyout.

Considering the amount of big name forwards that could get moved in addition to the other defenders, there just might not be enough 1sts to go around. Who else is available and when the trade happens is going to matter, and which trade sets the market are all going to be factors.

Last deadline, those types of defensemen were in high demand and aside from Giroux and Hagel, they were pretty much the top targets.

Ya I would agree with that. He probably gets something more like the Manson return in that case. 2nd round pick + a decent prospect that NYI likes.

i’d take robertson + a 2nd but he’s too injury prone to be the only future in the deal
