I like poolparty, I'd take him and give him a real shot, don't love the Toronto deal but I think it's about berts value unfortunately.

Do I hate this as a Leafs fan? Not really. I guess it's Minten that's the gamble for both sides. Like the kind of player he is in junior. I feel like from a far Bertuzzi has fallen off, maybe I'm wrong.

Don't think he's fallen off as much he just has to get his stamina and rhythm back from missing two long stretches with freak injuries this year

Engvall is better than (at minimum equal to) sundqvist; similar prod’n but better defensively. So no reason for that move imo; if you can keep engvall & add Sundqvist - makes more sense to me. And a 1st + Minten (top 3 prospect in Leaf’s system) is much too much for Bertuzzi imo

Sundqvist is the grinding bottom 6 F Leafs are reportedly seeking. I wouldn't get too caught up in the disparities in defensive metrics given the difference in the quality of the two teams. But if you'd prefer to keep Engvall that's fine

Like I said we can add Sundqvist, all for it b/c I agree he’s help in bottom six (size, speed and more physicality than we have currently). Engvall is a frustrating and scapegoat for a lot of Leaf fans but pretty hard to deny he’s effective. Just pointing out those two are a wash so 1st + Minten for Bert is more than I’d be comfortable playing. Maybe if he was lighting it up this year, but 🤷 he’s not

How about swapping out Minten for Moldenhauer?

That makes more sense to me. 1st + mid prospect or 2nd + Minten

I really like Minten so I wouldn’t move him to Detroit. I’m really high on Moldenhauer too. I hate trading away great prospects. I do like Berts though…
