If for whatever reason the Caps start losing a bunch and are looking like missing the playoffs...we accept. But, we more than likely reject because we are going to need Haths for the playoffs.

And this is why nobody will take you seriously. Aren't the Leafs the ones who traded a first for 10 games of Nick Foligno?

ofc I'm trolling. Kerfoot wouldn't be a rental he would more then likely re-sign being a Vancouver fan growing up. so a 4th for Kerfoot and a 7th is a steal

Why would Canucks trade for Kerfoot? Not like they’re competing for a playoff spot. No reason to do that trade

Vancouver has no interest in giving up anything for Kerfoot.

re-sign him. management said they want to retool. also him and mikheyev where a good shutdown line for the leaf's. he's also a very versatile player but Toronto cant afford him.

Ok so they just sign him in the off-season if they care to do so? Not like he’s in high demand. There dozens of UFAs like Kerfoot to sign

I'd say the Isles trade is a big overpay. Hirvonen & a 1st for Mayfield fully retained would be the absolute ceiling of his value; and Steeves/2nd/3rd for Parise is a pick and a prospect too heavy for him.

If you wanted to make the deal in one phone call, 1st/2nd/Hirvonen for Mayfield fully retained & Parise would have them on the next flight out of JFK. You could probably get away with a 3rd instead of the 2nd and Steeves instead of Hirvonen if you wanted to drive a harder bargain, but as an Isles fan I'd be pleased with that package still.

It’s almost like a completely different GM made that trade. What a concept!

The Leafs give up a 1st, 2nd, and a 3rd, plus a solid prospect (and someone like Steeves who has an NHL future ahead of him) for a pending UFA d-man, who at best is our #3RD on the depth chart, and a forward who at this point may not even crack the starting lineup
