Make Jensen trade 3rd round and no extension, and Sabres agree. Vegas 2nd maybe decent in the end.

LOL this is what being privileged sounds like. your team has made the playoffs every year and are still in a playoff spot they don't suck they're just not as good as they used to be.

Jensen might get a 1st…. Selling him for a 2nd would be an amazing deal. Imo he’s the best RSD available at the deadline. Feel free to fact check me but Jensen is really good. Buffalo should extend him.

This is what being an idiot sounds like … Capitals have been average at best all year. They basically played well for 1 month. We have an opportunity to gain draft capital in one of the best drafts and I assume you think they should buy or not sell? One hold on “ oh yes!!!! Let’s trade our 1st round pick and get a great top 6 winger like Mantha?” No our coach is out of touch w how to develop young talent. He also struggles to make adjustments. This team is set up to lose either 1st round or not make it. Gain the assets and maybe use them at the deadline to upgrade in areas of need. I would even consider trading Kuzy after this season.

I went soft on the Jensen return to eliminate bias lol. I think he can maybe get a 1st or 2nd + prospect.

Nah Jensen is solid, getting him for a 2nd is a steal tbh

My thoughts exactly. Jensen would more than likely only cost 3x3-3.5 to sign also.

im not the one assuming they should or will buy at the deadline Your owner said it. Your management already said repeatedly they will not sell or start a rebuild while ovechkin is playing. Your team won't randomly start tanking when they're winning the wildcard hunt. also if you miss the playoffs you picking around 15th... it makes no sense they'll sell once ovechkin passes 99. your exaggerating because you had a bad L today.

They have had bad Ls all year. Not exaggerating. Long run selling now would allow the team to be better next year by gaining assets today. Top 5-10 pick > #15. Plus we could use that pick to add a much better player. Anything is better than being mid. Management is dumb AF if you haven’t noticed

Impossible to know that till the market is set and you know who the buyers are…. I agree / would love the idea of everyone being worth more. I went w a conservative approach/ semi worse case scenario

What’s this, a classic “Caps lost let’s sell” overreaction ACGM?

Must be January.

To your title, the Caps don't suck, this is a snap shot reaction. They seem to be a pretty middling team now however and are a tick worse than last year. It's a tight race now for them to make it and I hope they do because I like the yearly playoff hockey even though not much success the last 4 years...If they miss or look like they will miss by the deadline, I hope Bmac is smart enough to move at least a few of these good assets for draft capital. The kids can take the spots opened up for the last two months of the season then.

Ken Holland has never yet traded a 1st for a rental. And with Broberg breaking out I don't know how urgent he's going to be to add a 4th LHD for the stretch run and playoffs... Orlov is an upgrade on Kulak so if he came with a decent 3-year extension and Kulak was going the other way, I could see that being a basis for a deal.
