Retain 50% of buchnevichs contract, subtract Kokkonen and add a 4th this year or 3rd next year and it’s a deal

The Blues are NOT trading Buch. People need to move on from this notion. The Blues likely accept the SEA trade, maybe on CAR (though they'd probably rather have Gunler), the Barby offer is not competitive, the Mikkola offer is okay but also beatable.

Hilarious. The Blues are not trading Buch, and if they were other teams would beat the offer above.

This is the kind of trade I would include Knies in.

I think the value on the Tarasenko trade is in the right ballpark, but slanted in the Blues' favor a bit, however I don't think Seattle is the right team for him. They already have a plethora of capable scoring wingers, so if they make a deadline splash I think it'll be at a position of greater need.

Oh, I agree Seattle doesn't seem like the spot for him. If anything they'd probably want O'Reilly. But I'm just answering this guy's AGM. smile

If Buch was available, I think he's one of the players the Leafs would consider moving Knies for.

Would need to look at how his 5.8M tag affects next season, but I think you take this deal and figure that out in the off-season.

Nobody would trade a fringe top 40/50 prospect (no, knies is not a top prospect whether or not he’s your best), a first and a contract that literally every Leafs fan wants out of for 2.5 years of a PPG winger who is great defensively? Be for real. Knows would have to hit BIG time to be even close to what buch is now.
