First of all, good lord that’s a mighty large contract for Jensen. I doubt any team will go anywhere near over 6 mil for a 32 year old, especially when Buffalo will have other important contracts coming up.

It is incredibly unlikely that Washington would move Jensen in the first place since it seems that they will push for a playoff spot and with Carlson out, Jensen is their best RD by a long shot. In the unlikely case Washington will sell him, it’ll almost certainly be for a 1st. With Buffalo’s 2nd being a middle of the road pick and Bloom being a bit of an uninspiring add (decent OHL production but I don’t see his ceiling being high enough for Washington to bite), I think Washington would get better offers and would likely force any prospective team to pay at least a 1st for his services.

It's not 6.75 a year, that's the total of the 2 years, it's a bump from his 2.5m. And you might be right about the 1st. But think that's a decent offer for a him.

Oh, gotcha. 3.375 seems reasonable for him, I've projected him anywhere between 3.25 and 3.75 and I expect it to be on the lower end. As for the deal itself, perhaps I am too low on Bloom. With Miroshnichenko, Suzdalev and Persson already in the LW pipeline from the 2022 draft, I think Washington would be lower on Bloom than others and would at least look to get a prospect at a different position, but I could see Washington going for this offer if they believe that Bloom has a higher ceiling than Suzdalev/Persson.
