I'd think Vancouver would likely pass on this. They'd probably want a 1st from this year as a starting point. Besides, I don't want Dallas to give up young guys like Bourque or Kyrou for rentals.

Canucks would require you to swap the two 2nds for an unprotected 2024 1st before accepting.

There will be teams offering up their late 2023 1st round picks, And since Dallas doesn't have one. The odds of Horvat winding up in Dallas is pretty much 0.

Vancouver would be doing Dallas a favor in the long run by declining.
