Lets keep the bottom 6 train going

Description
Honestly what’s been up with DeSmith? He can still have good games like the one against the Caps but Jesus man looking at all his games and there’s half his games of allowing over 3 goals. But the thing he still holds his own in some of those games as well coming up with the saves needed in high scoring games like that. I guess it doesn’t help Jarry has been injured a lot otherwise maybe we’d actually be seeing the Pens actually win games. I definitely don’t wanna be blaming DeSmith though cause what else can ya do when you’re the only trusted goalie on the team without Jarry?

A bottom 6 of this I feel would be more competent on the defensive end and also be decent puck carriers and also more speed and energy.

The 2nd would have to be in this years draft for the Preds to consider.

Blues aren't adding salary for another low end LD. We've done enough of that. I know it's a dump, but its a dump that's worth about twice as much as the player in return. The return in general without dumoulin in there is close to what should be expected for Barbashev. You want the salary added it's probably going to have to be 2 2nds +

I agree it's not great, but if the blues become sellers they may very well need cap on the books for this year. All rumored players i've seen (ROR, Buchnevich, Mikkola, Barb, Tarasenko, Acciari) are like $30M+ in cap (assume some may be retained in various places). I'd rather try a 2nd, dumo + prospect.

Hmm. If you would like the service of taking Dumo, a 4th will not cover it. And that's assuming that the 23 2nd holds up for Barby, which it may not.

Please tell us where you saw some Buch being traded "rumor"? I would like to see this. Thanks.

I feel like the No retention will add up a bit more equally but other than that I’m not entirely sure just how much more to add in there. The two seconds make sense but considering St. Louis can get a bit more value in a trade to flip Dumo there can be something done for this. St. Louis really doesn’t seem like a team that can make a push if I’m being honest. They can definitely turn it around but it just doesn’t seem possible right now

Hard to say honestly. Nashville has been okay but they need to remain consistent and hope for teams to fall

I dont think any dedicated Blues fan will argue that they can make a push.

It may cancel it out abit. However, his salary is already low as is.

in general, its extremely hard and you hardly ever see guys flipped within 2 months of being traded. It's not great business for the team towards the player, unless it's involved in the trade. There are way too many logistical hold ups that make it really hard to do so as well. If there are assets to be acquired from Dumolin, the Penguins may be best off doing that themselves and recouping some of the assets for making a trade for a guy like barbashev.

Adding cap isn't the issue, it's adding salary for the team. I know on paper it looks easy to sit there and go lets spend to the cap and tank, but there's a reason eating salary has come with a cost. There are always budgets. While Stillman has been fantastic for the Blues in spending to the cap. It's going to be pretty hard pressed to ask him to take on an extra 1.5 million real dollars in a trade to make the team worse. 1.5m isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but then when you factor in that we are currently paying Krug 8 million this year, Leddy 5 million this year, Mikkola 1.9 million, and Scandella 3.85 million it becomes a little harder of a sell to want to add more salary at LD when Calle Rosen has probably been our most consistent performer at LD.

Edit: It may be a price of doing business in this cap situation. However, I would venture to guess market value on Barby is a bit more than that

I don’t disagree. Price of cap space remains high this year. But for Pittsburgh I’d find a trade to add Barby a good one

I’ll requote that. It’d be a price worth to pay I think
