Until monahan plays a game back from his injury his value is 0. Sounds like he went to see a specialist last week. If he’s getting outside team Dr treatment and evaluations. It’s not a good sign especially for a guy with a long and extensive injury history

montreal just made a statement they will make a statement on Monahans injury status before the end of the week
A guy who saw a speciliast last week...that reads as a player and team trying to make a decision on having a surgery or not.

Weird thing for Montreal to make a statement about unless they are weighing some options for Monahan

With the exception of the Monahan deal, every other trade requires a Pick/Prospect/Sweetener by Montreal to even be considered.

And even then, considering the impending Cap crunch, I still wouldn't see the Rangers taking on Anderson and that Contract.

Monahan isn’t worth a first. Monahan with a b- prospect and 50% retained is still not worth a first.

Could you explain this long and extensive injury history that Monahan has? From what I know and has been reported, he missed some time in the shortened season of 2020-21 due to surgery on one hip and then last season missed the final 17 games to get surgery on the other hip. According to the Canadiens updates recently, this current injury is to his foot. Other than that, I wouldn't classify Mony has having an extensive injury history. If that is considered extensive by your standards, what the heck would you call Gally's history? Just cause your an Avs fan and don't want them to pay a price you think is not warranted, no reason for adding exaggerations to your post.

As a Habs fan, I would be more than happy getting a conditional 2nd round pick in 2025 that becomes a first in either 2024 or 2025 if the Avs win the cup this year and Mony played 50% of the playoff games.

I just think guys like Horvat, O'Reilly will cost more than Monahan will but when the demand is high and supply is low, someone usually overpays!

He’s been injured with bad hips for like 3 seasons in Calgary, always getting offseason treatment, never sticking, that’s the root of his decline, it’s been a long term injruy he has been fighting for years.

There is nothing exaggerated, this is all documented.
          https://thewincolumn.ca/2022/04/03/breaking-down-sean-monahans-injury-history-and-what-happens-next/

he has been fighting injuries for years and years. This isn't a new development with him.
          2016-17 - Wrist Surgery
2017–18 - 4 surgeries: two herniated discs, a groin operation, and a left wrist surgery
          2018–19 - Cracked Thumb
          2019–20 - Nothing
          2020–21 - Hip Surgery (Left)
          2021–22 - Hip Surgery (Right)

His whole lower half is a mess, if he has a foot injury, its not unheard of that he could have been compensating due to it, which can really mess up a guy. He could reaggravate a previous injury bc they are not baring weight correctly anymore, putting stress on other joints etc. This is not uncommon to happen
