Wow. Allvin with the stone cold stunner.

I did not expect to see a very good center prospect in return, let alone from NYI, and their first.

Beauvillier is an underwhelming piece but this deal tells me Canucks ownership did not want to retain on Bo.

The pick is also intriguing because I don't see how NYI re-signs Bo and if the pick rolls into 2024, it has potential to be a top 3-5. NYI is an aging group.

It also tells me Van ownership is okay with a couple years vs immediately trying to win next year and that is refreshing. The timing also speaks to tank asap.

It does not have the potential to be 3-5.

It’s a fraction of what canucks fans were posting here.

Based on the ACGMs and trades canucks fans were posting, they should be miserable with this return. I’m guessing they’ll all lie to themselves and have beauvillier being a point per game player and raty a future hall of famer by nights end.

Difference is most people expected the first round pick to be very late as only contenders should be paying for him. The difference between the 13th overall and the 30th overall pick is very very big. Essentially a late first round pick in difference. You could count this trade as Raty, Beauviller, and 2 late first round picks

Podkolzin Raty Hoglander is going to be a very good line

You’re the rarity apparently. Most were carlo + lysell + first…insanity. Or Newhook/Byram + 1st + something. Also insanity.

Nobody sane actually thought we would get that

he has stopped cheating and playing the game the right way now which is why his offense isnt producing as much anymore.
Mad respect for the new 2way king

As a bruins fan - same. No more of the, “hey, the bruins are gonna trade roster pieces for a center even though they don’t need a center. And their will be an extension even though they don’t have cap for extension so this will be the biggest deadline trade in league history!”

Bruins never made sense. Beauty of a roster and absolute freight train. If Bos ends up with 130+ pts, it's stunning to think about.

Then apparently 90% of the canucks fans here aren’t sane. The majority of the posts were double or triple this return.

This team won't be better next year. All it takes is an injury bug like CBJ.

No….you couldn’t. You could count it as what it is though.

The islanders likely will make the playoffs in my opinion.

Injury bug could hit and montreal, arizona, chicago, columbus, and others will still be far worse.

Even if they make the playoffs (they are currently not even in a playoff position), they are realistically a first round exit which is basically a first round pick in the teens. Pretty good

I think Raty has 2nd line potential

And the contract value is huge for a cap tied team. He'll get time with some talented offensive players he wouldn't in NYI. Great for development. Good for Canucks fan's soul to see a refreshing approach by ownership (albeit we would have liked the same with JT lol)

Ya. It’s probably between 17-22. That okay. It’s not overwhelming.

They are currently positioned at 13th. I don't see them improving THAT much. I'd say 15-18 is reasonable

I’m aware of the standings.

I think with this addition they are likely a playoff team.

Like I said, potential... No one thought CBJ would be the worst performing team in the league.

I kinda did.

I don’t buy into the models, but some of them had them being pretty bad too.

Honestly I’m just shocked this trade value wasn’t done with an extension

They can't afford it immediately, otherwise the wood shed would be open for business when Bailey's name would be brought up.
