One positive: I strongly believe an extension for Bo has been put in place and will be announced within the week.

Face offs don’t really matter but 4% above average is actually pretty significant.

You won't have a 1st round pick to trade for a #5 defensemen

Meier would've been much better even if they had to add more

if you want an overinflated extension and are happy with that, that's a positive... right.... RIGHT?

Here are some positives:

Bo is an excellent sniper, especially in the bumper spot on the PP. Honestly maybe top 3 bumper guy in the league

High character guy. I know this doesn’t matter from “on-ice” perspective but genuinely one of the best people in the league.

Face-offs. All situations guy.

Really good below the red line in board battles in the Ozone.

Good neutral zone carrier but does so with his head down and is not a great distributor once he enters the zone.

That’s probably it

Lou got a 1st line goalscoring center and will extend him, for 2 busts and a (top 12) protected 1st.

From an outside perspective, I think it's a pretty fair swap given where the teams are at IF -- and we're still waiting to hear the news -- IF Bo extends. But the positives for the Isles are you have a guy coming in who consistently scores ~30 more points than the current NHL'er you swapped out. And you finally have a scoring threat to go alongside Barzal.

There needs to have been an extension, though. Can't have paid the price you did for only 35 games.

Also, I'm not convinced Raty is all that big of a deal in the grand scheme. He's a good prospect, but that's not saying much given the Islanders overall prospect pool.

Instead of getting swept by Bruins/Carolina you lose in 5/6 games

A pick that could end up in the 13-15 range in a deep draft and their top prospect is pretty significant

If he signs at 7 or less then it's decent value but it sounds like it's gonna be over 8

There is no positive to Horvat extending. He’s a 3rd line center on a contender

Top 12 protected first and a prospect that, let's be honest, isn't all that good. Plus they dump Beau

No that's not fair. Even without an elevated shooting % he's a legit 2C. The problem is that he wants 1C money

Constant reliable 50-60 point guy, with the potential to put 80. Definitely a good 2C.

It’s definitely fair, the guy usually sucks at 5v5. He’s a 3rd liner who excels on the powerplay , which also has do with the players on the Canucks

3C. He produces like a bottom 6 center at 5v5 most years
