raty the supposed untouchable

Created by: jedihonesy

Initial Creation Date: Jan. 30, 2023

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Not gonna lie, return was underwhelming at first but I think im liking it now... a lot. Young canucks players: Podkolzin, Hoglander, Aman, and Raty. That's 4 very young guys that have played and can play at the NHL level. In 2023/2024 we will have three first rounders (if NYI pick is below 12): Lekkerimaki, a likely top 10 pick, and a mid-late first.

If we tank and that top 10 pick becomes one of Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov or Carlsson, this may be a turning point in the franchise, IF we can keep Petey locked up.

Garland and Boeser are on the trading block though. We have too many wingers

Unbiased fans: Raty is a former second round pick, projected to be a 2nd liner at best, ranked about the 60-70th best prospect in the league, nothing too special, nice complementary piece when building a new core.

Cancuks fans: This is our next top center, was UNTOUCHABLE, can you believe that, we got the untouchable. Like he couldn't even be touched and now we have him. We are winning the cup with him as our captain.

Preview of 2027: Hey canucks fans, did you see Raty just scored the game winner for CSKA Moscow.

Tell that to all the Islanders fans saying they would never give up Raty for Horvat

There absolutely were Isles fans that said he was untouchable or at least that the Canucks weren't getting him for Horvat

Well they’re as crazy as the canucks fans thinking they were going to get heaven and earth for horvat.

Islanders fans opinions don’t matter here, he was never untouchable, and no rational person would think he was

As a Maple Leaf fan this is how I see the trade;

Kerfoot, SDA and a 1st Rd and 3rd Rd pick.

Kerfoot has 200 points in over 400 games (just like Beau), SDA (a early 20s C averaging better than .50 ppg in the Ahl), 1st and 3rd Rd ( would equal the NYI's 1st Rd)

Crazy on all sides, this is cf homer/chirp/troll/lines lol. Two lottery picks and an expensive decent body seems underwhelming yet Bo is riding the ol' ufa retirement contract year. Raty is still a gamble in this league, just like the rest of VAN small euro prospects. The trick is to collect multiple assets

that's why I said supposed untouchable. Ive heard NYI fans say Raty is untouchable countless times. I personally don't think anyone in this league is untouchable. There's a price for every player. Raty is a good young player, but I'm not super high on him, although I really like this trade because we finally got a return of picks/young players. The first decent return in years.

Raty wasn’t called “untouchable” because of his pure talent, but because the isles have very few young guys and it would be insane for them to trade Raty. He was untouchable simply because the isles should have never traded him, not because he is some transcendent talent

I hope Raty works out, but Allvin still has A LOT of work to do. He didn't improve the defense, he didn't get that 2/3 center they STILL need.
MILLER IS NOT A CENTER! He might win the odd faceoff but he isn't a playmaker.

Abramov (a early 20s C still learning the North American Pro hockey), 1st and 3rd Rd ( would equal the NYI's 1st Rd)

Beau has at one more season on his contract but is more expensive, only difference between him and Kerfoot.

I should have said SDA instead of Abramov, since SDA is scoring at a better than .50 ppg in the Ahl like Raty, but again age difference.

lol what! Abramov is 24 yrs old with 5 NHL games. Raty is 20 yrs and potentially has a much better future. Kerfoot is 28, Beauvillier 25. Also leafs 1st will be much later than NYI's. The package you suggested is pretty much scraps. Raty, Beauvillier and 1st are not 100% gonna work out but its a lot more value than kerfoot abramov 1st and 3rd

Beau, Raty and a protected 1st is scraps.

Fact, deal with it.

yeah this is spot on. I just think its funny when a fanbase says one of their players is untouchable and then the player is traded. Just getting a little payback for getting ripped to shreds for suggesting Raty trades.

It really isn't a fact because Raty is still very young and the 1st could be an excellent player this year in a deep draft, or could be a top 15 pick next year. More likely a mid pick this year, it will hard for NYI to tank with the addition of Horvat and how **** the bottom 12 teams are. At the same time it could be a 32nd pick next year. Too early to tell. Also if Beau plays on a line with Petey he will probably have a significant increase in point production, we could then trade him.

I get the feeling Beau was a cash dump add on Lou forced onto Van. Telling them pick a middle 6 forward (Bailey, Pageau or Beau) Van picked the youngest and cheapest.

yeah, he is the worst of the three pieces. Maybe he can find something in VAN, but if not Raty and the 1st is still good, way better than losing Bo for nothing

2023/24 1st rounders will (most likely) not be contributing at nhl level for 3-5 years. Raty is in the AHL right now (& he ain’t tearing the league up) so when will he be able to meaningfully contribute at NHL level. Beauvillier has same cap hit as Horvat but also an extra year, so how does this make the ‘Nucks better in the next 2-3 years? Everything the ‘Nucks do makes no sense
