Sabres have zero reason to add another forward

You can't offer Bo Horvat 8 years, Since it wasn't a sign and trade. You can only offer him 7 years.

Easy No from Buffalo. We have Rookies that are playing better.

He can't sign 8 years in the offseason? Wow ok...I want to give Parise another year too, going to redo...

They don’t need forwards. At most they will add a 3rd pairing LHD.

I can see them doing both for sure, if they're smart.

Ridiculous, what's Ridiculous I have 2 rookies on ELC'S making less than 3.75m scoring more the him, both of them. Maybe you should give Buffalo a pick for Taking his cap for you

Fine I just reviewed the lineup quickly, you were right lol...regardless I'm shipping Kyle out he can help a young team I need room to sign Bo, thought Buffalo would appreciate the experience...I'm taking calls on on kp

That is incorrect.

As long as the team trades for a player and/or their rights, and did not sign them as a UFA during FA, then they can sign them to a 8 year extension. They took on the entirety of that contract when they made the trade.

It doesn't need to be a strict sign and trade. Not in this instance. That is why GM's trade for players rights before FA hits.

The 7 year maximum contract ruling only applies if a player is signed as a UFA and coming from a different team. Since Horvat is going to be on their roster by seasons end the Isles can extend him to an 8 year contract.

He wasn't in the mood

Meh if they did want to move Palmieri just due to money, he can be really good and works hard even for like a fourth rounder.

Anyways we'll see, I'm just really interested in this Horvat stuff, his stat line doesn't truly tell his ability IMO the guy can play for real....I'm hoping he signs with the islanders, full disclosure I don't want him on Boston then again I just want him on a good team proving how good he is....we'll see what happens.

Appreciate you, got to love when wrong information is passed off people love to hear headlines and use it as facts without actually researching and finding out like you did.

I didn't look into it because I don't care but for the guy to ensure it could only be 7 years and just put that info to me just to be wrong, that's rich.

Cheers

The Sabres already have an over the hill former Islander who can't skate as their captain, that's enough experience
