Pens trade bait list rn and what is Hextall even able to do

Description
At this point not even sure what hextall can do… he’s tied his own hands with some bad contract decisions and we have to move $ out to bring anyone in. Carter has a NMC and I don’t see them moving Dumo bc he’s a big guy in the locker room and blah blah. Trading kapanen would admit a mistake and hextall seems like the type who wouldn’t do that… so the logical pieces I see being available are a 2nd round pick, any prospect not named Owen Pickering, Blueger, DeSmith, POJ, and maybe a McGinn or Heinen just bc…
They need a new 3C and I think they realize that but I fear they will get a 4C instead and leave the blueger carter thing on the third line which would just be awful… I’d love a more skilled 3C so we can push rusty down to the third line with our new guy and just fit pieces around the lines… smith was fine when he came up and sully still won’t play POJ and I just don’t get it… DeSmith has been legitimately awful and while his numbers aren’t awful he just never makes a big save when we need it… but I mean we could say the same thing about Jarry for most of his career…

Trades
1.
PIT
Players that I doubt have any SIGNIFICANT VALUE but will have to be included for salary purposes
    2.
    PIT
Established Players with actual value I could consider Hextall moving on from but unlikely
      3.
      PIT
Younger players with value to the right buyer but would be to acquire a more established piece
        4.
        PIT
Might be moved simply bc we need to upgrade on them and they’ve been inconsistent
          5.
          PIT
Those young players and picks that are definitely on the table

Pens should be calling San Jose about Meier right now. I think we need a big trade like that. I would start with Kapanen, Poulin, Hallander, and a 1st for Meier. We would need him 50% retained probably unless we trade Dumoulin or Blueger. I'd add a 2nd to get Meier 50% retained.

There's nothing we can do, it's Hextall's fault, but just the reality

If you strike out on the big names would bertuzzi for kap and a 2nd be feasible provided Bert looks healthy and playing more like himself.

Good summary of where theyre at imo. Not many great replacements especially with the cap. Pens and Hextall have said pretty adamantly their 1st round pick is off the table and I think they mean it.
            My wishlist would be...
            #1 - 3rd Line center
#2 - Move Dumo but only if you can replace with a top4 D
            #3 - A bottom six depth piece
Adding any of these while unloading Blueger, Kap, McGinn, or Dumo would be a win in my book, and neccasary for the cap. Cap is going to kill a lot of moves, majority of teams have no room.

Meier would be a good get, but there's no shot that gets it done

I would love bertuzzi but it’ll cost more
Probably similar to the Rakell trade but a little more in value…

            So kapanen, Heinen, 2nd, Poulin
            For
            Bertuzzi

I'd do it but you can keep heinen we have enough blah wingers as it is. Poulin with a 2nd and kap I think is more than enough given Bert's year.
