Description
This is My take on why I think its terrible for the Isles: (Also copy and pasted from my twitter so might sound wierd without context)

Raty has 2C upside imo, Beau is still a decent middle 6 winger and you got a 1st on top of that. Horvat imo isnt gonna top this year production and has a big boy extension pending that they cant really afford confortably with an already meh roster.

2nd response in my convo:
I just don't see Horvat ever topping this season. He's been well below PPG every year of his career. Nucks could completely fail at developing them sure(the prospects). But isles just doubled down on a mediocre roster without any prospect pool.

Not even gonna try a boeser trade I have no idea tbh

Canes pass. Nothing wrong with it, but Garland does nothing. They have enough middle six wingers. They need someone that will break open playoff games. Garland doesn't do that

Horvat is a 2C now though, so it's a fair trade, Beauvillier had to be included for cap reason, if he can turn it around then that's great for Vancouver if not, they get at least two shots at getting a Horvat equivalent in Raty and the 1st.

Where the Horvat acquisition might go south is if he's signed to a 1C contract.

I totally see him getting 8 x 8 honestly. The Isles are mediocre as is and have already fallen off they doubled down on a bad roster and no prospect pool.

Yeah, he might get that and that would be a huge mistake. I do think that Horvat would take less from NYI than what he was asking from the Canucks, so maybe 7mx7 or 8 which I think was what they offered Kadri might be what they sign him at, still would be high but guess we will see. I think a good price would be 6.25mx8, Lou likes his even contracts so if I had to guess the AAV, I think I would go with one of 6.25m, 6.5m, 6.75m or 7m. Let's see what happens.

Pittsburgh has SEVEN NHL Defensemen, and we're going to pay you two picks for an over-the-hill, overpaid Luke Schenn? Not to mention that we're already up against the cap. Hard no.

Overpaid is stretch consider he makes barely above League Minimum, but Team doesnt matter too much I picked pitt because Letang and Petry have been injured a few times this year. Both have LTIR stints. Also just seems like a Hextall move.
