Probably would do. Would the 2025 1st be unprotected?

This is probably close. As much as i love wahlstrom, he’s pretty much out for the season and if the isles are gonna go all-in after the Horvat trade, might as well go all the way

There’s a very good chance Wahlstrom is better than Kane and Horvat next season . He’s already better than Kane

Chicago would be foolish to decline this. And if Lou isn't fired if this team doesn't make it to the finals, then i truly feel sorry for Islanders fans.

That's a homer take if I've ever seen one. Like a truly out of pocket reply.

Kane can't even produce more than wahlstrom at 5v5, how is this a homer take

He doesn’t if he asked to get traded. He said that Barzel is the player he would most want to play with in the league if he could.

I don’t know what kane would be thinking, but Islanders have a lot going for them in terms of semi recent playoff history. He could see himself putting them over the top.

The isles aren’t making the playoffs this season. They have about a 14% chance. Kane isn’t putting them over 50%. Isles haven’t had recent playoff success. Two years is a long time ago

I’m personally not a huuuuge fan of dom lusczczczcczczczczcyn’s model, as I don’t think there is a way to quantify a team’s chance of making the playoffs. Yes the isles have played more games than other teams and have a difficult schedule for the final 30 games, but after acquiring Horvat, getting healthier, and getting a much needed break, maybe they could go on a run. With teams like Washington and Pittsburgh on the decline, it’s not too unrealistic to see the islanders snag one of the wildcard spots. We’ve made noise in the past with worse teams in the playoffs, so if we make it I like our chances regardless of our seed.

Difficult is an understatement , I believe the isles have the 2nd toughest schedule in the league.

Washington hasn’t regressed much, Pittsburgh’s skaters are great, goaltending is a problem. Both teams have better coaches than the isles. To even make the playoffs the isles would have to go on like a 10 game winning streak which is unrealistic. Money puck has us at 11.6 %

No, you’re posting a chart for an elite player sandbagging with nothing to compete for on one of the worst rosters on paper in recent years. If you think Kane is actually suddenly this bad, I don’t know what to tell you. I said Chicago would be foolish to not take this offer, so it’s not a sleight on Wahlstrom’s value, it’s the opposite. Kane along with Horvat gives the Isles true contender status this year, but it’s very short-sighted, and if they don’t go far this year, it will be an awful deal and that first will likely be a very high pick. If Lou has any competence left, this would never be offered, but who knows, he’s the most overrated GM ever, and probably has some unwarranted feeling of job security.

I know what it is, and am demeaning the quality of that stat. A secondary assist boils down to luck in my opinion.

2 years isn’t a long time in Kane’s memory. I noticed you seem to handicap a lot of things in numbers and %’s thats fine and all but just don’t think it tells the whole story. I know islanders have a lot of good players even if there schedule is tough I could see them making a run.

Was an elite player* - kane does not make the isles contenders , they aren’t even going to make the playoffs.
