Can't see the Sabres adding a center. And especially not one like Hayes at that big price tag.

Dallas doesn't need Braun. They've already got Hakanpaa to fill the overpaid, big-bodied, veteran RD. Don't see the Stars having interest in another player like that. I could see them possibly kicking the tires on someone like DeAngelo though. Not the greatest defensive player, but is pretty solid offensively and in transition. The Stars transition game from their blueliners has been pretty abysmal outside of Heiskanen, so DeAngelo would be a breath of fresh air.

Hakanpaa isn't worth 1.5M?

100% agree.......not sure why the ACGM thinks the Sabres, or any other team, wants the "fat" from the Flyers.

I don't know why Konecny would be considered the "fat" rather than the "meat" but in that one case, the Sabres would greatly benefit from adding a player like him. Switch Hayes with Konecny and the Buff-Pha swap makes more sense.

He was last year. He's really fallen off this year and is a liability more times than not when he's on the ice. Really don't care a ton, because $1.5M isn't really enough of a cap hit to complain about, but Dallas could certainly use an upgrade on the right side of their blue line.

Lol what the heck am I looking at for that LA trade?

Even if cap wasn't a problem, I wouldn't trade Byfield ALONE for all of that. Much less include our top LD, a previous #5 OA pick who we'd be selling low on only due to injuries, another first round pick, and even more pieces.

That's really interesting because his numbers are significantly better this season. Just further proof that you cannot judge a player solely from the stat sheet or analytics. But for me, most every time I see him, he's doing a good job against partially sheltered competition. Of course, I don;t watch Dallas every night like you do, so thanks for the info.

No, we won't be trading our #1 LhD or Quinton Byfield or our 2023 first-round pick and we have no interest in Ivan Provorov.
