If Vancouver were to trade Ethan Bear, and Thatcher Demko, that isn't close. They would want pieces like Greig, Jarventie, Boucher, etc.., picks from the first two rounds in the last couple years who are very good prospects, not some guy drafted in the 5th round five years ago, a cap dump, and a bottom nine winger. The first rounder is a good piece, but I expect Canucks fans to go bananas over this proposal.

1. You are overpaying Ethan Bear and underpaying DeBrincat and Pinto.

2. Vancouver fleeces you.

I've been proposing Demko for 2023 1st (top-5 protected) + Zaitsev. No need to complicate it beyond that and the Canucks aren't moving Bear.

I would give Jarventie, honestly Crookshank is probably a better prospect than Jarventie.

I'd rather just sign a short term bet this offseason and let Sogaard develop. Keep the pick or package it for defense
