Buffalo would be dumb to do that. Pacioretty makes no sense to be moved unless he is done playing in his career.

All it is to prevent Carolina from using more LTIR. He's UFA after this season and can re sign him if they want.

Using more ltir really doesn’t matter to us. With Aho, Patches, etc making less real money than their cap hit, we likely save Patches tax money and not worry about trading him. I agree we likely re-sign him in the offseason if he passes a physical

Why would it be dumb? They're starting to contend now, Levi is probably 2-3 years away. You have a goalie who is in his prime and can get you in to the playoffs and gain experience while most players on their cheap deals and not making $7M+ like Cozens, Quinn, Power will surely be making in just a couple seasons. Sure its a risk with his injuries, but a dumb move, it is not.

alright, then removing Patches and putting him on LTIR. I still think Boeser and Burroughs, a scoring winger and depth D man for a playoff push for a 2nd is good value.

Roughly because they aren’t lacking a starter as UPL is playing very serviceable. *Note this isn’t saying UPL is better than Demko, just an unnecessary move for a slight upgrade. Or in other words, a dumb price to pay for that mild upgrade, if that.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO, from Buffalo

1- we are no longer looking for a goalie
UPL is playing well for us (12-3 after a shaky start) & has basically become our #1. Plus Anderson has played well for us all year, & we have Comrie signed for next year, with Levi coming.
WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR A GOALIE

2- 🤣🤣🤣 if u think Demko is getting u that return right now
He’s played poorly this year & having injury issues. If u wanna get his “previous value” for him in a trade, then you’re likely gonna have to wait it out for him to get healthy again & start playing like his previous self.
*Even if the Sabres were still looking for a goalie, i wouldn’t give you a 1st- OR- Levi for Demko- let alone both!
That’s just ridiculous dude
YOU ARE NOT GETTING THAT VALUE FOR DEMKO TILL HE STARTS PLAYING BETTER

There’s just Zero Chance that this deal happens
ABSOLUTELY NONE

If they were a goalie away from a cup, maybe they'd make a move *like* this. But adding a struggling goalie to a team that is still learning how to defend well isn't the right move for them. It's just an impossibly risky one at that price, when A. UPL is starting to pan out B. 1st round pick winds up 11 in a fantastic draft C. If Levi becomes Demko in 2 years for Vancouver will have to go into hiding

P.s. Even when I was open to Demko earlier - when our goaltending was atrocious - I wouldn't consider moving Levi in the deal

Dumb. Sabres wouldn’t even move a 1st for Demko. Adams loves the direction they are going and staying the course. He has Meier on his mind as the move he is making.

Buffalo doesn't want Demko. He's also not elite, he's not getting that return

It’s debatable, but sure looks like it this season. I just wanted to avoid The Who’s better talk, and focus on the trade being off for a variety of factors

No thanks, would rather them try and use the cap space on a true difference maker and not a guy with less goals than Brady Skjei
