Absolute huge fat no to Klingberg. He’s the worst defenseman in the league. Barbashev is worse than Garland and Schenn probably brings back Cal Foote.

Rather be patient with the D core and draft Reinbacher this year. Don’t need to lock up another Myers to a 6x6 anchor disaster. The only D’s I like are Gavrikov and Graves.

Klingberg is only signed for 2 years. Hardly an anchor. I can understand him not being a fit but he's probably the most flexible in terms of contract among all the top-4 UFA defensemen. Rutherford also brought in Schultz in PIT so this is similar to that.

There's a decent chance the Blues would jump on that. Garland is a total Schwartz, and the Blues miss Schwartz.

Zetterlund is three years younger, not wildly overpaid and having a better season than Boeser.
Don't see why the Devils would do this even with 50% retention, let alone taking Boeser's full cap hit.
