I can't see Montreal trading Slafkovsky. This would be in the summer as PLD won't be traded before then, so Monahan will be UFA. So, the value in the summer for PLD isn't close.

Yeah Montreal is not trading Slaf, IF we traded for PLD this summer it is likely to create a 2nd line of Slaf-PLD-Anderson to compliment the Caufield-Suzuki-Dach line anyway. I can see the Habs doing a deal post draft with the Jets though, not entirely sure what that would look like but have to assume the 2024 1st and a couple of good prospects like Barron, Kidney, Roy or Mesar are involved (not all of them though, probably 2 of them)

Yup, you'd be looking at giving up pieces that are a little bit better than what Horvat just got.
