In the case Ryan O'Reilly sign a 4-5 years deal with Boston.

Hmm. Quick question... what else can you put in there instead of Gryz? Or Gryz and the 3rd?

Listen Kid, winning a Stanley Cup ins't EZ so you must sacriface some futur when it's time. Boston has an amazing year and will probably do everything possible to get into the Stanley Cup Final. Also, Bo Horvat gone let less good asset on the trade market. Let's just hope O'Reilly will be back soon (IR. Expected to be out until at least Feb 14).
And All of that from a Habs Fan who can reconize a good Team even if it's Boston.

Half way ... a 3rd party could help by taking an extra 50% on the 50% retain by STL but it will coast more to Boston. Salary Cap is a **** for everybody these days.

Okay, well, it's certainly one that would make them think, but in the end would probably see them pass. Debrusk is what makes this a tough call, he's a total Blues winger type.

This is already a ridiculous overpay that just makes the bruins so much worse. You’re actively tearing apart the team.

Was this directed at me? If so, the quote function is very helpful.

You’re right, winning the stanley cup isn’t, “EZ.” This makes it harder because the team gets worse. Much much much worse.

The bruins don’t need a center. They do need their top line winger which you’re trading away. They also need McAvoys D partner which you’re also trading away. Just look at their roster man…or kid…or whatever. They don’t need anything here that they’re trading for, they desperately need the things that you’re trading away, and on top of that they sacrifice massive trade chips in two first round picks.

It’s just a horrible idea.

This is such a home run for St. Louis they wouldn’t quibble about anything. High fives in the front office, yes please. No take backs.

No, the best you can do is scrap this horrible trade all together….because it makes a stanley cup contender worse. Duh.

Debrusk has more value than either player. Heck, maybe both. Add on two first rounders and this is just ridiculous

Dude. Nobody is complaining about value, so you can reel it in. There are usually other roster and cap-based considerations.

And when the value is 5x the return, it doesn’t matter. Walk into one of those stupid cashless chipotles and offer them a $100 bill for your burrito. You’ll get your meal.

Well, as long as you're not wildly exaggerating all your points...

The analogy is somewhat hyperbolic. That was kind of the point.

Uhh, I wasn't talking about the burrito part. But yeah, that was also overly fantastical, to put it politely.

No the assessment of the value isn’t an exaggeration
