No interest in a cap dump and 2 throw ins for Comtois

The difference between Sean Durzi and Jordan Harris is more than a 5th round pick. Change it to a 2nd and LA would consider it.

It ain't that much, Harris is already a top 4 D man on a weak Habs team, maybe a 3rd more likely a 4th is the difference

Armia and Comtois are having almost identical seasons, except Comtois racks up PIMS and his 6 yrs younger

No thanks on Harris, the Kings need someone more refined to be Brandt Clarke's future partner. The ability of Durzi to play both sides and higher point total and tougher minutes, better possession stats, better at blocking shots, and more physicality makes him worth more than essentially a one-for-one swap (at least to the Kings).

Then the Kings will be more than happy to keep Durzi playing on his off-side.

I appreciate this well-rounded, meaningful and thoughtful response and understand your pov. Makes perfect sense

Man, Armia sure is living up to that contract he signed......

Wonder what his issue is in Montreal right now, I would have figured his scoring would have picked up under the coaching change.

I mean, he and comtois have had practically the same season, except Comtois has 70 pims and Armia hardly takes penalties

Comtois has those PIMs from several scraps defending team mates. Between that and the much cheaper contract, not to mention we are already short on LW and overstaffed at RW, I would rather keep Comtois.

90% of his pims are for sticking up for the fellas so there goes that point out the window

He is cheaper and younger so automatically much more value to us besides he looks and plays much better when he is put in places to actually succeed like playing with Zegras but Dallas misuses him constantly so just keep him and I bet he bounces back with our next HC (Rikard Grönborg🤞🏻)

The coaching excuse makes sense. I hadn't factored in the Eakins effect. You guys win this one.

Anaheim won't trade Comtois at a low point. They'll invest at least this season before deciding whether to part with him.

Durzi (or Jordan Spence) for Jordan Harris (or Arber Xhekaj) is a framework for a possible deal. You and I should leave it to the professionals to determine whether the difference between them can be expressed in draft picks. One final point: Durzi is, of course, three years ahead of Kaiden Guhle in development, but it should be noted that both are averaging nearly half a point a game. Durzi is doing everything we had asked of him and hoped for offensively, and more, and he's developing the defensive side of his game adequately, too. I think that ultimately, Guhle has the higher upside, but they might be closer than you think.

P.S. {late edit}: For what it's worth, Durzi usually QB's our second power-play unit.

It's been addressed already, but you really need to get past the OMG that's a big PIM number mentality. Armia has put his team shorthanded 8 times and Comtois has done that 6 times. Fewer penalties that matter in seven more games played.

The misconducts, fights and matching minors he takes being a physical presence add to Comtois' value as a player rather than detract from it as you are suggesting. He's younger. He's cheaper. In every way Comtois is the player Anaheim wants if the choice is between him and Armia.
